Are we too nice?

Comments about not being ruthless enough in front of goal got me thinking about how we behave when looking for a new manager.
So far the two leading candidates have appeared to be Jones and Heckingbottom - two people out of work.
Why don't we poach other clubs managers? I don't care whether Barrow go up, or if Oxford reach the playoffs, or what effect it would have on Rochdale if they lost their manager. I really couldn't care less. I only care about what it would do for us. I've actually seen comments on here concerned that taking Evatt would scupper Barrow's chances of getting into the league.

Football clubs need to look after number one, and if that means treading on toes then so be it. Plenty of other clubs have don't it to us and they don't care, so why should we. I think there's a softness running through our club to be honest, and it needs to be stamped out. Let's not pussyfoot around; if there's a manager currently doing really well and it seems a good fit for us, let's go for it.

You selfish barsteward! But I agree 😂

We're in a better position now than we have been for years. Effectively there will be a new canvas for any manager coming in. There is a chance to develop the training ground and for this to become a long term project. It's only 10 years since we were in the Prem and managers will remember the crowds and the potential. If there isn't a queue a mile long I will be amazed.

No, don't agree. If it were our manager being poached, we wouldn't like it. 'Dog eat dog' is not the way forward - whatever other clubs might do!

But our managers have been poached. We don't like it, but they still get poached. Do you think the fans or the board of the clubs they go to care? If they did, then they wouldn't do it. Nobody cares. Being nice won't get you anywhere. I'm not saying purposefully looking at people in work for the sake of it - if the best person is out of work then great. But we need the best person, not just the best person without a club.

Strangely enough watching iFollow on Saturday, they had Anthony Wordsworth summarising and when Dewsbury-Hall got booked he said he would be in his face trying to get him sent off for the rest of the match - said it's the ugly side of the game but had to be done. Very honest but actually reflects what this league is about!
