Arthritis ?

Has anybody tried Turmeric for arthritis in the knees and if so, have you found any benefits ?
I've been looking in to it recently. It certainly seems to have a positive effect. But I'd be interested to hear from somebody who has actually tried it rather than somebody trying to sell it to me.

I tried it for a while did nothing for me,but have also had knee replaced due to sunday football stopped age 54,,,drs said nothing they could do about arthritus behind knee though so justwear abrace when playing walking football

One possible side-effect is feeling lightheaded or dizzy. After taking it for quite awhile both of us felt lightheaded. Stopped taking it and for both of us the feeling of being light headed has disappeared. But from what we had read in advance we knew this might happen!

...and heading metal goalposts 😂

Apple Cider Vinegar works as well. A teaspoon in a glass of warm water every morning and you will be sorted.

Available from any Health Shop and Boots

That bloke who walked to the North and South Poles swears by it. One brand is endorsed by him 🥶👍🏻

I enjoy working out and weight lifting. It’s been a large part of my life for years. I follow the science - I do a lot of work with Sport England and also involved with a Medical Genetics development team.

I could be run over by a bus tomorrow but in the meantime I’ll stay as healthy as I can get my body to be and that’s good enough for me.

The lifestyle you lead will defo keep your Telomeres at a healthy length Chunky, I occasionally make a spirulina and wakame seaweed omelette, it takes a bit of mixing but worth a try.

Given the amount of turmeric we eat in this household we should in theory be arthritis free...but not sure that’s the case...but when it comes to adding something to our food then that’s definitely a different matter.
Tomorrow is left over ( from Sunday) Nasi Lemak, shell on prawn curry with fresh green beans in turmeric ( powdered ,fresh is too much of a hassle) and coconut milk ....can’t wait😉.
Take a few supplements but not turmeric...shouldn’t need it as per opening quote😁

The food is Malaysian Style( including the prawns)...I’m sure some dietician would be appalled but hey ho...each to their own.

I have quite a bit of wear in my knees after a lifetime of playing football.
I have tried a number of ‘natural remedies’ over the years, including turmeric for a while.
High strength Glucosamine has unquestionably been the best for me.
I think you just have to try to find what works for you, if anything.
Couple of ** years with your knees 😬🍊⚽👍

Quick update for anybody that's interested. I've been taking the turmeric tablets for 3 days and there is a significant change in the pain in my knees. Didn't think that it would work so quickly. So far I'd strongly recommend it !
If you put the tumeric in a high cupboard so that you have to stretch for it every time you use it, it will work even better, honest.

Shell on prawns from yesterday, good luck and make sure you’ve got plenty of bog roll 😬
No need.......just make sure you don’t eat the shell😉Just the prawn meat.....and it was as good as it was first time round.
Tonight “Orange Rice”,Kerelan Chicken( courtesy of Waitrose),a Home made Dahl Dish with a veg( yet you be decided).

Just seen this thread I've been taking turmeric for about six months and was wondering if it was really having any effect so I stopped taking it for 3 days, mistake, I'm back on it now and the pain has gone again
It is really good but the effects wear off very quickly if you stop

Ha ha Chunky, for someone who looks fairly young and fit you need a bigger pill box than someone in their 80's. That I find strange.
