Arthritis ?

Just seen this thread I've been taking turmeric for about six months and was wondering if it was really having any effect so I stopped taking it for 3 days, mistake, I'm back on it now and the pain has gone again
It is really good but the effects wear off very quickly if you stop
I ain't stopping. I'm staggered by the effect it's had on me. I can walk up two sets of stairs without screaming, ** !

Three years ago I was running 3-4 times a week, from Parkrun to Half Marathon distances on road and trail, after running every day for 6 months (a challenge I set myself) I started to develop right leg aches and pains that stopped me in my tracks.

Big do’s little do’s after some rehab at MSK in Fleetwood had to bite the bullet and stick to swimming and admit my running days were over and started building up walks with the dog to the point we were doing 4-5 miles a day comfortably.

Since turn of the year my left hip decided it didn’t agree with right and my walking has slowed to a crawl and lucky to do 2 miles now - which is ok cause we now have a puppy to walk as well, but I’m losing more and more mobility and sleep is a constant battle against pain.

I did buy a Sacroiliac Belt which fits round hips and acts like a ligament, this does help and I’ve picked up some joint exercises to do.

Had another x-ray last week and, coincidentally, sat typing this whilst waiting for a Dr telephone appointment to discuss results - which didn’t show anything sinister other than osteoarthritis.

All I can say is that I will give any bloody thing a go to get a good nights kip and to walk 4 miles again without looking like Douglas Bader!

If it's any help Bottle, I've been taking these turmeric tablets for 5 days now and my knees feel great. I used to dread walking down the stairs in the morning, really isn't a problem at the moment. I'm surprised at the immediate effect that they've had and I'm hopeful that it will last !

Pleased for you 👍 I don’t care if its genuine or some quack placebo as long as it helps!

BTW Got another referral to MSK who are best people to assess on exercise, medication and potential surgery and s prescription for what was an anti depression tablet but now used to help nerve damage pain and causes drowsiness - hopefully double bubble or even triple whammy (I could do with cheering up!)

I use a bee product called propolis. I get it from a beekeeper in Poland and take it with a bit of honey from the same bees, it takes a whle to get working but it certainly makes a difference.

Posted on the eczema thread that I was recommended to use propolis balm

Body is a temple.

Multi Vit
Spirulina
Curcumin
Fish Oil
Acidophilus

All washed down with a nice blend of protein powder, weight lifting and Hiit training

Love it

Also 5HTP, CBD Oil and sometimes Nootropics (the latter for days where I need more focus).
Do you take Creatine? I stop/start with it as I already carry a bit of extra erm Blubber (I'm into Strongman so am allowed 😅).... Plus all my bloody hair has fallen out 😂

Ps. totally agree on the good brands/expensive stuff as they'll likely offer more bio-availability i.e. it doesn't pass through the body unused. Also likely to be stuffed with less filler crap as well.

Always use Creatine in post workout shake. There’s no downside and you’re don’t need to cycle it. 5mg a day. It doesn’t really lead to water retention like some of the Sarms or Oral Stez - that’s the beer and sticky toffee pudding 😂

How do you get on with the CBD stuff?
Never used it

You’re lower lifting so you’re can do what the feck you like!!!

Jury's out with CBD - the real stuff definitely works (someone else told me 😂)

Maybe I'll keep up the creatine then...

Ps. I looked a right dick during lockdown doing a strongman routine. No room to flip tyres or anything so I'm picking heavy and awkward objects up and walking round and putting 'em down again 😂😂 Nearly bought a tow rope for my car too but resisted 😂😂

Edit TITD has a point with all the supplement stacking tbf 😂

I've been diagnosed as having an Arthritic knee, my GP prescribed some strong painkillers and anti
I take turmeric powder mixed with black pepper, a touch of honey and unsweeted almond milk every morning, plus a CBD capsule before breakfast. It does assist, but does not cure.
The only thing that will cure an arthritic joint is a full joint replacement mate.

Quick update for those that are interested. Been taking the Turmeric tabs for 2 weeks now and seriously haven't looked back. Definitely works for me !
Great to hear Devil.
There’s a great website called Examine, where you’re can look at any supplement or vitamin and find out if it has had real medical trials or is just bro science.

it will tell you the recommended dosage etc. There’s so much out there that has no impact on the body yet people believe it does. Turmeric (Curcumin) is proven.
