Astronomers Anonymous

Intersting. I can only see the Moon and Mercury at the mo. Maybe it’s a bit cloudy underneath all the dark skies.
I read an article about it in the Guardian. Apparently they can all be seen in order moving from low in the western sky over to the east.
Where're you seeing Mercury Lala?

I was looking forward to this but unfortunately we are having typically Irish weather at the moment and it is forecast to last all night!

Just to the right of the moon I think. My bedroom window has exactly the same aspect as the pic in the article so the moon is where it shows in the picture and then Mercury where the pic shows near to it.

I think that is probably Jupiter? Not certain though.

Five planets—Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn—can be seen with the naked eye, but you will need a telescope to see Neptune and probably a mirror to see Uranus.

Wasn't she the blonde bird in Fireball XL5?

*Scurries to rescue the situation*
Not that I'm suggesting you're old enough to remember that early Gerry Anderson effort.
*Phew!*

"Little Ronnie Wilson, the smallest man alive
He flies around the physics lab in Fireball XL5."

A popular song for the juniors about an undersized physics teacher when I was at school.🙃

They were quite visible last night in West Yorkshire.

I told the wife they could be seen but I would need binoculars to see Uranus.

The Doctor told me my broken nose and swollen testicles will mend.

I used the free app Star Walk 2 when my daughter was doing astronomy at school. Shows the planets and star locations in real time using a compass so you can point your phone at a planet or star, and it will tell you what it is.

Jupiter was just to the right of the moon (looking South from the Fylde) last night
