Away fans

Some appreciative comments by Ipswich fans….

Sang throughout the game and stayed until the end.

Long way to and from Ipswich too.
Fair play to them.

Looked pretty full in the upper tier.

In good voice and weren't disgraced. Fair play to them.

I watched it from home and you could only here the Blackpool fans.

Fantastic support all throughout the game, especially after the two Ipswich goals. We made far more noise than 20,000 home fans who were very quiet.
Some crude chants were not really necessary though like “ sit down if you sh__ged your mother”
Plus some childish behaviour by a small number of our fans trying to get into a group of also childish Ipswich fans at the end of the match!
I must be getting old and past it but it spoilt it somewhat for me being with 2 of my grandchildren.

Whilst our support yesterday was fantastic chants like the one you mentioned really did make me cringe. The problem is they don’t just do it once they then repeat it thinking it’s funny when it’s fuckin embarrassing.

I would suggest that having a pop at the younger generation for yesterday’s chant is a bit rich when you consider some of the stuff that oldies chanted in the 70s and 80s.
Agreed. You’ll get it in every away in the country. Post Covid/Oyston, I tend to think our away ends have been outstanding compared to the years before hand, certianly deserving of more and representative of a club who expects to be going places - not sure what brought the change in terms of a more lively/noisy bunch?

As above, we often (especially in the championship years) got comments from lots of big clubs for the followings, noise and “limbs” we’d bring to the party. The away following do deserve much more on the field success, and I’m sure that’ll come under Evatt.

Getting back onto the subject, our fans were brilliant on Saturday and a credit to the club.
Thanks to the great generosity of Richo we were able to take so many down there. Getting up at 4am and back to bed at midnight was a strain after such a long journey, but it was worth it. The team did us proud and battled on to the end.
Great day… thanks again Richo.
