Ballard loan...

Well if we do break the mould and resign him on loan then at least we have a ready made song for him....

Ballard, Ballard, so good we loaned him twice 😀
(to the theme of New York, New york)

The advantage for Ballard to re-join us is that he has the fans right behind him from the word go with a year of goodwill already in the bank. He could make mistakes in Championship games for us and we would be backing him all the way. If he went to somewhere like Fulham with no credit in the bank with their fans and made some mistakes, he wouldn't get that same leeway.

How many times have we signed a player on loan for a season, watched him play well, then signed him on loan again for another season?

It could work out, but it rarely does. Loans are temporary. We'll get the next Ballard. And he might be on a permanent!
Stephen Dobbie came back on loan twice.

The big advantage of coming to us is he will definitely play, plus encouraged to play.

The possible downside is they may want him to experience another club / change of playing style etc.

If he went to Fulham he'd be up against Tosin Adarabioyo who sat next to my daughter in maths at high school and kept asking her out and she said no every time. The fool. 🤣

The only reason he won’t come here I feel is if one of the bigger clubs pay a bigger loan fee than we are prepared to pay. I’m sure Ballard would be happy coming here. Money talks.

All I know is that if they want Ballard back on loan Sadler, Critchley and the team will do everything they can do, financially and otherwise, to get him. If he doesn't come, for whatever reason, it won't be from the lack of trying. I just hope that we find out sooner rather than later, so that he or an alternative can have a full pre-season.

Agree about money talks but it really is a no brainer for him to come as, settled and loved it here, great manager, brilliantly run club (wow how good is it to say that), championship club and if bookies are right and we are relegation fodder then he will be properly tested every week.. I really will be shocked if he doesn't come back.. but then again it's a funny old game.

But agree with Pete let's get it sorted either way sooner rather than later.

For me, the only thing preventing him would be distance from family. That said, we have a decent set of lads who look after each other - give the lad £3k a week and that gets him a very nice rental with a couple of the other lads.

would that be the Tosin Adarabioyo that is rumoured transfer target for... Arsenal?? 😱

That might not work in our favour...

Voy, she was probably looking to the future and thought, 'No way do I want Adarabioyo as a surname' 🙄

Yes. He was at City in his year 11 days. Lived in Whalley Range, but was born in London, apparently.

You're right, it might work against us if that happens.
