Southend enjoyed the better chances in a slow opening half-hour at Bloomfield Road as Sam Barratt forced a diving save from keeper Chris Maxwell.

Eh,
They hardly got in our half in the first 30 mins, then only a few sporadic attacks??

I'm glad I didn't have to listen to that today. Chissy always spends more time praising the other team than he does us. 😠

I heard plenty of people saying it was poor, but I thought we played good attacking football. We had 2 new midfielders in Dewsbury-Hall ( Leicester ) and Ronan( Wolves) who ran the show. Especially DH who I thought was excellent. We also had a new centre back in Moore(Bristol City) and he looked good as well. didn’t hoof it played through midfield and it was much better than of late..

Considering the problems we've been having recently, plus the additions to the squad in such a short period of time, I don't think there was much to complain about today.
As has been said D-H, Ronan and Moore were all very impressive, Bola looked more like the player who won awards last time he was here, Madine is a class act who will improve when the players behind him begin to gel, and Feeney was back to putting in dangerous crosses.
Turton didn't impress me, and I feel he'll be dropped before long, but all in all there was a lot to be optimistic about today.

On we go to Tuesday.....

We had two really decent chances in the first 30 mins including having the ball headed off the line and so yes it is nonsense!
