Been vaccinated but no Antibodies?

I`ve had the Pfizer vaccine just over 4 weeks ago, first dose and recently as a volunteer for the UK Biobank that has about 300,000 volunteers whom they contact from time to time in the interests of health research, they contacted me to ask if I would be prepared to carry out a blood test to check if I had any Covid antibodies completely independant of the vaccine regime. I said yes so they sent me the testing kit which I then used and discovered that despite my vaccination I apparently have no discernible antibodies. Slightly concerning as on the BBC news recently they said antibodies are more likely to develop in the older age groups that include me.

Anyone else had an antibodies test?

They say they will not send out a second test to those who have been vaccinated and obtain a negative result as the purpose of their study is to ascertain whether those tested have been previously been infected with Covid rather than to assess antibody status following vaccination.

The tests are only 50-60% accurate. I had one weeks after having Covid and it was negative. A second more accurate lab test proved I did have antibodies.

Thanks for that.It does occur to me that as they seem to believe that antibodies take a while to develop maybe you with your first test, and maybe me too had our initial tests too soon before the antibodies had chance to develop..

I did the same also with Biobank. I had a jab about three weeks ago and also tested negative. I presume that the level for a positive is too high even if a level of antibodies are present.

I had the Astrazeneca first week of Feb...I then had a blood test 2 weeks ago for something else unrelated but I did ask If they could check for Covid Antibodies at the same time which they agreed.
The Nurse who took my blood said the vaccine I had does not contain any Antibodies and that it was some sort of protein spike that protects you from getting seriously ill from the virus if I caught it and that I had been misinformed and the result should be negative. Anyway ...When the results came back it showed me negative for the Antibodies.
My Second jab is Due on the 24th April but reading this morning that In a Borough of London...Through social media ( and because they had extra doses of the AZ vaccine) they made a call out for people over 50 and younger ones with underlying health conditions to come and have the jab even those who have had their first jab after 8 weeks could have it as well.
I may well pop down the WG next week to see if I can get it over and done with.

I had an antibody test done a month ago and the results haven't come through, they're probably lost knowing PHE.

At this stage I'm giving up caring.
