Best and worse stadium you have been to?

Best - Blackpool FC
Worst - I will go for Crewe old ground - the nearest you could get to a WW1 trench. Wasn't the roof held up by telegraph poles?

Best: Millennium Stadium, Amsterdam Arena and the good old days in our South paddock.
Worst: Hartlepool.(pissed down all game), Barrow (harsh cos they've now got a roof on the one away end and Wigans old ground

Saltergate was an absolute dive. Of grounds that still exist (or still haven’t changed) Luton’s Kenilworth Road is by far the worst ground in the EFL as far as I’m concerned.
Zero leg room, basic facilities, crappy views, and in an absolute horrible location. Good atmosphere and full of character though.

I like The John Smiths stadium (or whatever Huddersfield call it now) as it’s full of character, has decent facilities, good views and whenever I’ve been it’s always been a good atmosphere in the away end.

The emirates is absolutely perfect - except for the atmosphere being non existent.

Best : Highbury. Something about that grand old stadium

worst : Priestfield before the ‘upgrades’ ahem

Worst, The Shay, Halifax Town.
I'm talking many years ago. Shale all the way round.
It didn't help that it was also the Speedway Track. 🙄
It's actually a lot better now with two covered standing terraces behind each goal and a new main stand

Goodison is a cracking ground.

Best, probably the San siro

Worst, perm any from the old grounds of Wigan, Halifax, Doncaster, Hartlepool, Wrexham, Darlington or Chester!!
Halifax wins hands down. Years ago they had speedway racing in the same ground and the corner flags and turf was on wooden pallets which they removed to make it an oval for the speedway racing.😂😂😂

Gonna go for Saltergate as well, with Springfield Park a second place. I'd actually been to Wigan loads before I went in the away end and whilst the home stands weren't exactly luxury, the away end was something else.

I've never been Gillingham but it always looks terrible.

Best - I really liked the Millennium, thought ever the contrarian, I also really liked the new version of the Shay... (The old one was as above, really bad) There's nothing special about it. I just like terraces and old fashioned northern towns. Bet no one else chooses that!

Favourite ground as a neutral, without question, home end at Palmerston Park.

Ha, didn't see this. I've just cited it as one of my favourites!

I really liked it.
Yorkshire Seasiders went to the Shay a few times for a supporters social quiz night in the social club in the away end. And we won😂

I know it's not what you had in mind, but the new Wembley strangely answers both questions for me.

For a stadium that size the view's very good, escalators to the top levels, good amount of catering.

For the national stadium, access to it by road is a joke, it's way over priced, the middle corporate tier and that section on halfway that doesn't fill up until 10 mins into the second half, are embarrassing, the stewards are a tad over zealous (or they were the last two times I was there)
Plus, anyone on the first dozen rows at the Yeovil play off win got soaked!
Best for not getting soaked, despite it pissing it down, was the McAlpine stadium (as it then was) in Huddersfield.

Best non EFL ground has to be the Giant Axe here in Lancaster. You get one of the best pub crawls going and it’s straight off of the train so no driving. Tidy little ground for the level with a great view of the castle and priory thrown in. Good pies too. Really hope we play City again in pre-season 🤞

Let me clarify the old Bloomfield road has some of my best memories and atmosphere's and character.

But I was more about grounds and its infrastructure how it was nearly falling down, with leaking roofs, outside concrete walls for the toilet, I love the old ground.

Best -Exeter City as it's very close to my mates house so i get a free stay in Devon at the same time.
Formby/ Atherton Collieries.

Best, another for the stadium of light, Lisbon. Millstad for the 'day out' exp.

Fav Valencia's Mestalla.

Worst, the shay, Halifax. Springfield Pk would get a nod, however we could park in a drive about 20m from the turnstiles, which was nice (did this every year). Detest Wembley, soulless, in the middle of nowhere, having to double think Wembley Park and do a detour to avoid any delays (v WH clapped the team off and was at Euston for 5.25). Tin hat here, but Bloomfield Rd, err, lacks.

I went to a match at Kenilworth Road during the time theyd banned away fans way back.... that was weird..... more atmosphere on the moon!

Best - New White Hart Lane, with an honourable mention to the old SC Freiburg ground that had a spectacular view of the Black Forest from the home end (but more about the whole package of atmosphere, friends and beer there really).
Worst - the old Macedonian national stadium in Skopje. They've rebuilt it since I went but that was a proper dump.

Worst has to be the old Estadio National in Santiago. I thought the whole stand was coming down around our ears when the fans were bouncing around after a goal.
Best is probably the Millennium although the Parc des Princes come a close second
You may not have have stood in the open end at La Catolica when it’s pissing it down. Think I had the only wet night of the year under the Andes!!!

Best - Wembley, when you win, you don't wanna go home.
Worst - Wembley, when you lose, you just wanna get away from the feckin place.

There have been some shockers mentioned on here, most of which I have been to but one more to add, The Dell. Bloody awful.

Tim, certainly different than I remember. However, I was talking about the 1940/50s.
Actually I always have great memories of Halifax. My God Parents lived there and I used to go for my holidays (honestly) 😜 .
Loved it then as my God Father was one of the best. Blown up in a munitions factory during the war, but never let it get him down.
Half-sighted in his only eye, half a left hand, but always great fun.

Have to agree tam bloody awful ground and the away end was just a big mound of coal slack remember being there one year ,got beat 5- 2 I think pissed down (some guy called Norris a winger destroyed us ) best one I've been on would have to be the millennium stadium.

Best - Wembley/Old Trafford/Amsterdam Arena/Mtk Budapest

Worst - Yeovil/Southend/Everton has some charm because it’s old but most cramped concourse and seats I’ve seen plus posts in way.

Signal iduna is overrated 😮

Peterborough best trip 2010 prior to 2010 London marathon.
Or
2015 London Mar weekend Charlton Athlecic.
Worst ground?
Bloomfield road
Mid seventies when the cages went up across the Kop.
Horrible time, horrible way to treat people.
The rest is history

Newest and nicest Arsenal, barcelona due to the size and whole experience, worst that hole at the other end of the m55

Best Maracaná, Rio de Janeiro just for the history and sheer size of it, although when we went in 2002 the crowd was only about 18,000, with a lot of the ground closed and unsafe.
Worst probably Luton mid 70’s, horrible ground just odd.
Sadly must include Bloomfield Road late 80’s/90’s disgraceful facilities, dangerous and decrepit. To witness it’s decline from my attendance as a kid during the early 60’s through the 70’s was heartbreaking and embarrassing.Thank god we’ve moved on now, and have an owner
who cares for the club, fans and the community. UTP.
Take care Levi.
I love you like a long lost brother.
Bring back the Big gigs.
Who canceled.
However Happy Mondays and James 03/12/2021 booked.

Hi, Dave hope you’re well, we had Toots & The Maytals booked for last May, but obviously got cancelled, then the old rastaman passed to the other side, bless. Look forward to a natter in the not too distant future! 👍

Worst, England: Wycombe. On an industrial estate, with no accessible pub anywhere near it.
Worst, Scotland: Airdrie (no pubs and horrible ground), East Stirlingshire, missed half an hour cos I was in the pub and they kicked off at 2.30 because their floodlights didn't work.
