Best British radio station

5Live as well for the chatty chat.

Nothing really for music these days, 6 Music used to be a go to but it's very indie light during the day these days with far too much Guy ** Garvey, Lauren Laverne and Mary Anne Hobbs are both awful presenters as well.

I've not tuned in especially for a programme since Mark and Lard twenty years ago, Radcliffe has turned in to a bit of a grumpy old tit these days, but they were genius.

Mark and Lard were brilliant.
Especially enjoyed fat Harry White🤣

Radio Caroline North 199 medium wave. My old man used to say " turn that shite off now" so it must have been the best 👌

Fat Harry White was excellent.

I usually hear Johnny Vaughan on RadioX on a Saturday morning (on the way too/from the BIG shop.) He’s capable of some entertaining stuff at times.

Got to agree with Lytheren re Lauren Laverne. How she’s built a career in broadcasting is beyond me. Mind you, I watched some Isle of White stuff last night and was reminded of how awful Edith Bowman is.

Now I don’t drive as much, and when I do, not very far as I used. Discovered Capital Dance, pretty repetitive but get at least a couple of tunes in on a trip, no idea who any of the artists are - but always “feat.” someone else I’ve never heard of, but the best thing is that there is barely a yap from the presenters and very few adverts, some of the tunes are quite good too!

Other than that, Radio 6!

I can still laugh out loud when thinking about "Oh lucky you" (Have you heard of a little thing called the luck of the Scottish?)

Listened to them since they did "hit the north" on GMR/Radio 5" and miss them very much.

Without doubt the best radio show EVER. FHW was brill, so was Bernard Wriggley with his 'Boning the Beyonce' and such. It says a lot about the direction of the station that RadMac have gone from 15 hrs to 4.

Laverne must high 5 herself every time there's a musical death as it allows for sympathetic ready made content. And don't start me on her and lockdown- I'd imagine she's praying like fxxx for another one.

Still, only listen to 6 really during the week. At weekend I stop at 10 on a sat and 1 Sunday- sport or Chill or spotify.

Still like “Pick of the pops” on Radio 2.
Charts from every decade and many forgotten or rarely played records.
Last week featured 2003 and this week 1966. The latter really shames the recent charts.
Love listening to it whilst on a hike or in the Gym and brings back all the memories.

BBC stations R4 for news current affairs etc and R6 for music ,R5 for sport, odd RLancs for the footy
R6 poorer for loss of R&M and Sean Keaveney but still a few gems
Should try out some other stations but have an aversion to adverts
