Cant disagree with 1966 choice. Did enjoy the old Hollands Cheese n Onion pies at Bloomfield road.

Gillingham used to do really good pies, that was the only good thing about the place.
The bacon rolls at Cambridge were quite good too.

I like a good meat n tatty pie, and the best i can recall was a new year's day at BR.
It was a goalless draw with Hull about 8 years ago, and I was hung over from the Winter Gardens NY Eve family disco. I felt rough in the first half, had a meat n tatty at HT and felt great in the 2nd half.
The worst grub at a football ground was at the old wooden stand at Deepdale in the late 70's /early 80 's. Had to throw the food away, maybe I was put off by the smoke from the fire that the pool fans started in the old wooden stand?

On 3-11-2011 I was invited to dine at ‘Howard’s Restaurant‘ at Elland Road with a party of Leeds fans. A marvellous three course meal and scarcely time to go through the cheese board before taking a seat with my hosts just behind the dugout.It was then somewhat embarrassing when Pool inflicted on Leeds one of their worst home defeats for many years! I’ve still got the menu tucked inside the programme!

Mushy Peas and Meat and Potato Pie in the old supporters club by the now gone old west stand.
I Never buy any food or drink in any ground but one of our mates always tucks in to at least one( and usually two) “meat” pies at BR....mainly I suspect to absorb the pre match beer.
Same person is notorious for having to go for a pee at some point in the first half and has an amazing record of missing a goal being scored.It’s these things that being there actually matters.
