Bez Lubala.

So it’s a story that’s not a story?

We already knew he was out for personal reasons so a waste of space story from the Gazette, its told us absolutely nothing we didn’t already know.

It was quite obvious something was going on when he wasn't getting on the bench over youth players on the claim that it was a "tactical decision".

Scrafton asked Critch about what was going on, as many have been wondering, and has reported back the response, including direct quotes.
I don't see why you have an issue with the Gazette for this.

There may have been speculation but this is the first time we're hearing off the club that it is an issue between Lubala and themselves. The official statements prior to this was that he was being left out for tactical reasons!

People hound Matt on Twitter about these types of problems looking for answers. When he finally gets an answer after weeks of asking he gets this type of response. Damned if he does damned if he doesn’t

The Who foresaw this long ago:

I told you why I changed my mind
I got bored by playing with time
I know you thought you had me nailed
But I've freed my head from your garden rails

Now it's a legal matter, baby
You got me on the run
It's a legal matter, baby
A legal matter from now on

For me, everybody that joined in the summer has transitioned well from league 2 to League 1 football, with the exception of Lubala. He showed glimpses of potential in a Checkatade game but I'd have hoped to see a lot more than that in his 20 appearances. Not good enough in my opinion.

He's clearly not good enough either.
We haven't seen enough of him consistently in the team to decide whether he is good enough or not; he's 23 years old, there is every chance we haven't seen the best of him.
At various points this season we have been told Turton, Husband, Thorniley, Mitchell, Virtue, Kaikai, Embleton & even Yates aren't good enough.

We need to stop writing players off and dismissing them before they have been given the opportunity to show what they can do.

At least we know it is not an injury or covid. At the time of the falling out with Bez, we would probably still have had CJ , Virtue, and Kevin Stewart still available. If Madine does not recover then we are really struggling for cover. Am I right in assuming if Joe Nuttal got fit and impressed in training he wouldn't be available as he wasn't named in the squad?

Thought occured to me it might be a clause thing? Additional fee triggered by more than 20 appearances, perhaps?! Probably not, more likely a disciplinary thing I guess.

It's all about opinions isn't it ? At what point will you have seen enough to make your opinion ?

He's not had a run of games has he? Several of our players have only started t look the part after a consistent run of games. I don't know if Bez has the ability but he hasn't yet had the chance in terms of what we have seen out on the pitch. Presumably he hasn't done enough in training.

Hope it all gets sorted, the last couple of games he looked like he was improving, like any player needs a proper chance and run of games. Be interesting what he could offer the team now, a team that has improved since he last played and has more confidence and a better structure. Also as it is reported we paid decent money for him would be nice to see a decent return.

He's started 5 games, and made 7 sub appearances in League One, almost all of those during games when the entire team was still finding it's feet and carving out an identity.

I'll give him a little longer yet before deciding he is or isn't good enough.

Shall we just leave it as a club matter?

Ah no because we all like to speculate.
It'll be a disciplinary with Bez
Anderson will be back by may
Heard Yates has been injured in training

As much as we'd like to know every little detail of what's going on behind the scenes the club dont have to give up that information.

Bez ain't playing for the foreseeable future get over it🤷‍♂️

If he proves me wrong then good luck to him. I took it back with Kaikai, as now he's being used in his best position, he's starting to look like the player that we all wanted him to be.

I agree, but also for me, football isn't as simple as he's good enough he's not - its not Champ manager on a computer, there are lots of factors. we see again and again players struggle somewhere then thrive somewhere else, or even struggle at one point in time then appear to be a different player. For me, Ward is a good recent example. Looked a bit lost and headless last season when coming back from a long injury, looks a world better now and better game by game.

So would you agree that KaiKai has had an extended run of games and been found wanting in many of them whereas Bez hasn’t had the same opportunity?

Ward doesn't look like the same player we saw last season and at the beginning of this. I'll hold my hands up and admit I thought we needed much better, but the way he has played recently now makes an almost certain starter.

I've no idea what has happened with Bez, so I'm not going to speculate, I only wish for a positive outcome to whatever the situation relates to.
Everyone will benefit if he is able to get back in to contention again and then hopefully kick on from there.

I agree about Ward deserving his place in the team but buzzing along the front line not sitting deeper with Dougie.
And who would he replace? Probably Sullay.

Maybe that’s the same with Bez, change of position might rejuvenate him and we’d see a different player. Hope this situation with him and the club, whatever it may be, gets resolved and his Blackpool days aren’t numbered.

That is a good point that you raise but Lubala played in all of the Checkatrade games against lower league opposition and didn't offer anything other than in the game against Leeds u-23's. He's 23 years of age now and I'd expect a bit more than ' potential ' to be honest from somebody that commanded a fee. You look for potential in players plucked from obscurity such as Garrity from Warrington Town.

I personally thought he had moments where you could see the potential of a good player, especially under Critchley who is a literal expert in moulding young players. The cross against Leeds in the Pizza Trophy was immense, he did look a little raw most of the time though - but we saw the same in Mitchell and Gabriel, players that looked noway near this level then they came back decent players.

But if the club have now come out and officially said there is an issue between them, it must be serious or beyond the point of return and we have probably seen the last of him in Tangerine.

Blackpool fans talking about Blackpool player, who randomly doesn't get on the bench after being on it all season and starting to show promise.

Note to all Blackpool fans, no more discussions around players please.

Add that to the list of mentioning anything negative about the team.

Anything else people aren't allowed to talk about?

Claiming that something isn't really worth talking about is a very different thing from telling you you're not allowed to talk about it.

The former happens all the time on AVFTT, despite people bleating on relentlessly the latter is extremely rare.

Or perhaps people want to talk about Blackpool FC topics on a Blackpool FC forum. Pretty simple really? Let people speculate all they want. Not doing any harm at all.

Not doing any harm at all... unless Bez is having issues with his mental health and then sees comments from idiots saying “he’s not good enough”.

People need to engage their brains before opening their mouths and speculating on topics they have absolutely no idea about and is none of their business really.

Dont be a knob eh!!

Talk as much as you want about players but I'm sorry you have no right to know what goes on behind closed doors

Absolutely spot on !

This was exactly what I was thinking for his absences from the league team.

It’s disappointing to hear that theres an issue with a player but I do trust the club to do the right thing 👍🏻

the trouble ive had when ive seen bez is his first touch seems poor never seems quite in control of the ball but there is a raw talent there.
Agreed, I would go as far to say the only trouble he has but it is a big thing in itself.

From what I saw of him, no great loss if the two sides part company at the end of the season. Lacked quality for me.

I think a 'club matter' sounds like another appearance triggers a hefty transfer fee installment or an extended contract that the club don't wish to take up.

It’s time for the club to set the record straight.

If a lack of forward options on the bench costs us a playoff place then there can be excuse from Critchley and co

If Yates or Simms are injured in the next couple of games we are fucked 🙄
