Bez Lubala

“To put it bluntly, Bez Lubala is a shot monster. His 4.5 shots per 90 is highest of anyone in the league by miles (Shay McCarten of Bradford is 2nd place with 3.7) and only Gabriel Jesus and Sergio Agüero average more (4.6 per 90) in the top 4 divisions of English football (minimum of 1000 mins played).”

He only has to get a few on target ....... 13 from 43 appearances last season

But wait there’s more ........ “For all of these figures, it’s important to consider them within the context of team performance. Crawley’s average possession is 47.7%, 21st in the league (or 4th lowest if you prefer), meaning that Lubala is putting up these numbers in a side who have a much lower proportion of the ball relative to the rest of the league.”

I read that report it was interesting. The shooting bit was generally positive stuff, perhaps though in our team, he’ll have more defenders between him and the goal?? I’m optimistic about him though don’t get me wrong.

We did a blog on him when he signed and analysed his play in detail. Yes he likes a shot and okay it doesn’t always work, but there are plenty of other attributes to his game. If Kaikai doesn’t play well next week I’d expect Lubala to get his chance.

Very good report UTMP... how do we find your blog page? I can’t see a link

Front 3.....
Lack of cohesion......
Back 4 lack of cohesion.....
More troops needed.....
Experienced left sided centre back

I see it's Kaikai's turn on the "not good enough" merry-go-round today.
That's the problem though,we know in very fleeting glimpses he is good enough he possesses a wonderful talent. It's the lack of effort and application that drives supporters mad.

He wasn't on long enough to influence the game. I wanted Critch to bring him and Kemp on at 60 minutes to shake up the opposition. In my experience managers always wait too long before making subs. They want to show faith in their starting eleven long after the point when it's not working.
Completely agree with this...Lubala will score goals at this level and is a decent plan B with Madine Plan C but they need more time to influence the game

Really could not understand why 1-0 on the opening day with tired legs that Critchley's subs came on so late. In fairness to Ryan Lowe he made his at the right time and added a bit of pace which quietened us down for 15 mins - Lubala should have been on much earlier.

I totally agree 100 per cent
Critch your subs were pathetic....
We should have put subs on with at least 30 mins to go....
If your loosing we bring subs on to affect the game...
None of our subs affected the game..
Part of that was down to not having enough time on the pitch...

It's all so simple isn't it? You should get into football management, Spider. You really should.

Critch will learn from this game, his subs were terrible. Too late and the wrong personnel.
Got to agree. We were chasing the game and needed a goal, so both Virtue, who definitely has a goal in him, and Madine, who should have a goal in him, were left on the bench. I cannot see why Madine was even picked amongst the subs if, in such circumstances, he was going to be brought on!

Critchley said he had no pre season and was a way off being match fit . I dont think we can judge Bez until hes fit and gets enough time to do something

"To put it bluntly, Bez Lubala is a shot monster."

Think there's a spelling mistake in the word shot! 💩
