Birmingham v Blackpool Official Matchday Thread 27.11.21

What has happened today. Utterly frustrating. We were the better team but utterly ineffective going forward.

Anderson is such a good player but he's not a creative midfielder.

And Bowler really has lost the plot. Not worthy of a shirt at the moment.

It's the same since last season. We need a quality creative midfielder and a quality goal scorer. In no way do I think we are poor but until we address these we will continue having mixed results

** frustrating to say the least, Bowler overrated imo, greedy bastard and as said 👆 does nowt in defence. Best thing about that game is UB40 playing at the end, Bowler should be obtaining one very soon…

Bowler looked inspired when he initially came on but his lack of passing ability is really becoming a nuisance. Costs us far too many times when a decent pass could be unbelievably dangerous.

So frustrating that game, its really wound me up. Very unfortunate to lose there as we were the better side, their goal looked a good yard offside - story of our season so far this, a weekly occurrence we're done by a shite refereeing decision.

I think Bowler was actually much better today, he’s just not a well balanced player at all and I was mind blown to see Mitchell come off. First half we were the far more likely to score, second half they woke up and it was more of a 50/50 fight until he took Mitchell off, lost all that defensive balance on the right and made it more like 60/40 in favour of Brum.

Think the players will be as frustrated as us with themselves, and I fully expect a massive response.

The wide players , Bowler , Mitchell and Dale are not scoring and seems we are not creating too many chances. Thought Carey might offer creativity , but for whatever reason he's not on the bench. Need to stop the rot, which means scoring goals to win games.

Poor result that. We need to find the back of the net more often, and it needs to begin with not leaving both our top scorers on the bench.

Hmm bit of a wake up call. We absolutely belong in this division but pretty football and possession isn't always enough. We need goals and we need to stay organised for the whole game. One corner, one shot on target says we didn't apply enough pressure. Even if they'd not scored, the way it was going we would still be looking at another no goals performance. Onward!

Mixed results like finishing third and winning promotion last season, and then sitting in the top half this season? Real mixed results.

But should those shit referees have had any real effect on the outcome? It's our own inability to score that's doing the real damage.

Having one person with a limited view of the game in charge of making game changing decisions when literally the perfect technology is available to make every single game changing decision correct is so ** backward.

Good first half but we were terrible with the ball second half, we have players who have proven they can score but we can't seem to get the ball to them in the right areas, our final ball was terrible.

Goal did look offside, did they think it came off one of our players? Can't think of any other reason.

Two wins needed before Christmas to steady the ship.

To be even thinking we deserved a result at Birmingham when we’ve just been promoted through the playoffs last season is testament to our progress. We are going to either kick on or settle in mid table which we can all be satisfied with hopefully? They’ve paid £27 million in transfer fees for that one nil against us.

We done pretty well today save for being shot shy.

We've never scored many under Critch, we've always struggled.

The final 3rd rarely clicks, wrong decisions and quality of ball.

When did we last score 3 in the league?

Sorry but we need to bin the Tony Parks "we're doing well to be here" mentality.
