Black Sabbath Farewell Gig

Absolutely amazing.

My mate was there and constantly sending videos but I was at a birthday dinner so couldn't go.

Today I went up to a certain cliff overlooking the sea to see these tombs.

Whatever floats your boat!........
...Not for me but very much doubt anyone that loves Black Sabath would be seen up on the dance floor doing back flips listening to Frank Wilson or sat on the the dance floor singing "Opps Upside your head".
Horses for courses.

Oh come on, as a DJ i played all the party songs and could bluff (badly) a Northern Soul set. I didn't listen to bloody Agadoo (blessed be it's name) to kick back and relax. There's a time and a place for things, what you dance to at parties stays at the party but your private tastes should always be glorified especially classic metal.

Refused to go after finding out if was at that shithole Villa Park.
Sorry but I've had a belly full of concerts at crappy old football grounds it doesn't work.

Absolutely 👏

I often clain Led Zep were the bees knees and the best music will ever be in any genre bar classical but Sabbath were a class above nay competitor even Deep Purple. I think of the music I grew up with and weep for the youth of today.

Totally agree

It's an interesting debate but I agree, that was a golden age.
For me, DP were a little bit more proficient than BS, musically, but it's not just about technical ability, is it?

Page or Blackmore
Gillan or Plant
Bonham or Paice

Still can't choose

The whole area around the cliff, the old church and the Pagan stone are beautiful- great place to get sea glass too

And a nettle tea, which is bizarrely a Heysham delicacy.

It's a great spot, made surreal by the juxtaposition of the olde worlde village and church with the ** massive nuclear power station.

There's also two nature reserves in Heysham which are both good.
