Blackpool MP comes out for Trump

When it comes to `ignorant comments on Brexit` Scott Benton should know as he has the advantage of having them available right on his own doorstep.

Boris Johnson, and the ERG are more than capable of showing complete ignorance on many aspects of what a Brexit really entails...
 
Same old argument from the pitiful right-wingers on here. This time hanging it on a tweet from the latest suit full of bugger all to represent Blackpool South.
When Biden gets in you can guarantee that the Tory Party will lose that tweet and relegate Benton to the most distant of back benches.

Heā€™s not on his own though. Led by IDS, quite a few Tories have been saying the same thing.

Itā€™s the usual foot stamping you get whenever the Brexit Fantasy meets the real world. Lots of screaming until they are sick.

Nothing concentrates the mind of senior tories than the need to be in bed with the POTUS. The last PM who managed to stay onside with the POTUS whilst staying away from their militarised foreign policy was Wilson. I just wish we were as bloody-minded as the French at times.
 
Scott Benton is the most loathsome Right Wing #### I can think of...apart from Ian Duncan-Smith and that Beano figure, Rees-Mogg! šŸ˜. I remember emailing him over Cummings and Barnard Castle and he absolutely backed him to the hilt! This despite the Tory MP for Blackpool North, Paul Maynard, saying the opposite and that Cummings should go! When Cummings did finally go I emailed Benton again, asking if he still backed him...unsurprisingly he never got back! šŸ™„. The guy moved to Blackpool after failing to attend FIVE hustings as potential Tory candidate for Huddersfield! He was also a member of an ANTI GAY group....so became MP for Blackpool South...you couldn't make it up!!! šŸ¤Ø šŸ™„. My daughter hates him with a passion and says he covers himself in snake oil in an attempt to slither his way up the Tory Party....she's not far wrong imo. He likes to see which way the wind is blowing that's for sure.... šŸ˜

I tend to judge a person for what their really worth and what they bring to the town rather than any private outside thoughts/beliefs.

And for me If he can get Blackpool airport open again to international flights heā€™ll have done more for the town than the Labour council has in 2 decades.

Letā€™s not forget the airport closed under its present owners (the Labour controlled Blackpool council) they ripped a perfectly adequate terminal down and in its place built the energy college (fracking college if you want to give it its real name) and since the departure of fracking on the Fylde coast no fecker attends, itā€™s become a massive white elephant and a total waste of tax payers money.

Blackpool council have sold off many acres of airport land for both housing and recreational use their trying to shrink the airport to such a size where they can say right enough is enough we have to close it, the air terminal is just the start of a pre planned demolition of the airport.

Scott Benton has met on many occasions potential airline owners in the hope of returning the big aircraft to Blackpool airport yet the owners (Blackpool council) have done absolutely nothing.

So to sum him up heā€™s done more for the town already than Gordon Marsden ever did in 3 decades as the Labour MP.

And finally calling someone a racist has sadly become a daily routine now on here for some, itā€™s just pathetic.

I don't recall calling Benton a racist? šŸ¤” He probably is like(he was recently banging on about asylum seekers being housed at the Metropole)...but I don't recall saying itšŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø As for the airport, well like I said in my initial message...he likes to see which way the wind is blowing....or windsock in the case of the airport!šŸ™„. He's sussed that the airport is a very emotive subject for locals and so has jumped on the bandwagon....like he recently did regarding BFC...despite only living here about 5 years and reportedly being a Leeds(?) fan... šŸ˜

His famous pledge and yet he has not spoken to any of the parties that would be involved in reopening the airport. There is literally no official correspondence. He's a fraud.

The shortages of HGV drivers, empty shelves in shops, spiralling fuel prices etc are happening all over the world not just here. Seems our Brexit is a more powerful phenomenon than anyone could ever imagine. FFS wake up!šŸ™„

And as for shortages I posted only yesterday comments about this what are we actually short of?

Shopped at my local Morrisons store only yesterday I went to Aldi the previous week and on each occasion I came back with everything I wanted so what is it weā€™re supposed to be short of? And what actual shops have empty shelves? As Iā€™ve not seen any. šŸ¤”

So the meeting I attended with Scott, Jake Berry (northern power house minister) and other parties didnā€™t happen then?

And for the record I didnā€™t say it was with Blackpool airport management did I? They failed to turn up like the airport owners did Blackpool's labour councillors.

You know absolutely nothing trust me.

Whatever you think about Scott Benton you will have to admit he's high profile in Blackpool. He is out every weekend canvassing in the area you never saw Marsden unless there was an election.

The 'iron lady' was high profile too, but very much a marmite figure...that is one the country hasn't forgotten, even to this day! Loved and hated in equal measure. Personally I hated the woman...and some area's of this country haven't recovered from her policies even todayšŸ˜

As I said earlier the meeting wasnā€™t for public release.

You may get to hear something official in the next few months/new year.

Things are still at a very early stage and also as I said earlier itā€™s very difficult as the airport owners (Blackpool council) just donā€™t seem interested in the airports future.
