Blackpool v AFC Wimbledon Official Matchday Thread 06.03.21

Poor defending for their goal . Ball should have been headed out then same defender gets beaten too easily , for the ball to be put in .Mistake going to 5 at the back near the end.

Season Over, good night god bless. Least Wimbledon deserved to be fair to them but I go back to the' identity' we are allegedly building, you don't see much of a Blackpool style do you.

Aiming for the top six and we get outplayed by a Wimbledon side in the bottom four with an attractive brand of football. You can accept bad days at the office but Crewe and now Wimbledon have both come here and generally out played us, and our response today was to try and hold on......back fired big time.

Critchley has to take full responsibility for that, he has to stop leaving Yates as a lone striker, we spent 25 minutes just jumping the ball forward and letting Wimbledon pressure us again. Very por

Maybe these last two home matches will stop the giddy kippers who were predicting 5 wins from 5 games will realise you have to take 1 game at a time.

Blackpool have been woeful in the last two matches because the teams they played have got at them from the off and given them no time to settle.

Really hard to stomach those last 2 matches, Blackpool have become such a Jekyll and Hyde team, you just don't know which ** team is going to turn up 🤦‍♂️

As others have said, negative substitutions that invited pressure for 10 minutes. That’s poor from NC. Gabriel was the sub needed for Virtue to give us pace and an outlet.

Trying to be positive, that’s 8 from the last 12 and only one of those 4 games was against a team below us. We are more than good enough to be in the top 6, so at this stage anything less will be a failure. It’s disappointing today, more the way we played and the lack of confidence, rather than the result.

Irony is that we are point nearer the playoffs than we were this morning as all results of teams between us and Pompey went our way

Strangely CJ returning doesn’t seem to have helped, too often we look to just lump it long for him and give possession away too easy. NC fucked up today with his selection and substitutions and I hope he learns from that as it was two points dropped. They deserved a draw minimum.

Won't be listening to post-match platitudes. " fought, fink etc."
We've not learned from Tuesday.
Crewe were good, Wimbledon not pretty, but both can feel unlucky not to have beaten us.
Please let that put an end to all the drivel spouted about playoffs.
Qualifications and theory came unstuck again.
Think we'll stay up.
