Blackpool v Barrow EFL Cup Matchnight Thread 09.08.22

First home game of the season for me thanks to Joseph and his Amazing bl00dy coat!!! Looking forward to it, hope as someone said the other day, we put out a fairly strong side, try to get some momentum built up.
 
I don't think we'll see many of the team that started the first two games in action tonight, for two reasons:

* he can't risk injuries to his first team. I know the club financiers will want a cup run to increase revenue, but the league is the priority;

* the unused squad players should be able to beat a League 2 team - if they can't then they don't deserve to be in a Championship squad.

OTOH, Barrow are used to playing as a team, and our second string not so much, although I hope they've been training for this. If we lose I won't be that bothered. I expect a win.
 
Just thinking that it's almost impossible to get a team without using previous starters. If we don't use Fiorini or Patino in midfield then we have to use Carey, and Virtue, thanks to all the injuries.

Lubala, Madine**, Lavery

** Madine because he has something to prove after his unwanted early departure.

Fiorini and Thompson need a rest after two starts, and I wouldn't risk Patino getting clogged by some League 2 bruiser with a point to prove.

I can't say I'm happy with this team though. Over to you, Appers. 😄

Programme is £1 tonight. Unfolds in to a fixture wallchart. Hope It does not sell out. Then I will get one on Saturday.
 
Not sure what to expect and a win is not nailed on. I hope we don’t do another ‘Hartlepool’ like last year. Let’s see. If I was there I would go. UTMP
 
This is a good cup, it would be a real shame to go out early. I'm hoping we take the cups seriously this year, earn some money and get a couple of decent draws.
 
Always should look to win a few games then go out on a high to a big club, on tv that earns you a decent wedge, or go on and win it whichever you think is more realistic, but losing early to a lower league club, what is the point 🤔
 
Can’t make this one. Absolutely shattered. Worked everyday since the 15th July and long hours. Only just home and gotta cook and eat and shower.

What are you trying to purchase. No League Cup games have ever been available to watch live on ifollow or Tangerine TV. Not last season the season before or this season. Its been mentioned on here, its on the Club app and Website.

In case you miss any of those. It's not available live. And that applies regardless of where you live or how you try and fool the system with a moody VPN. Live Commentary only.
 
Would of been my choice for midfield 3 against Stoke, be interesting to see how it works
 
Charlton vs QPR
Bradford vs Hull are the only televised games. If we make it to the next round...depending who we draw there will probably be a stream.
 
Anyone want to predict how many times Chisnall mentions Barrow as his home town club and harks back to when he played for them.

Heard one so far but I missed the build up and the first ten minutes, there could have been more.
 
0-0 half time. Not much happened.

Bit of a scramble from a corner and a Corbaneau shot straight to keeper. He has been good. CJ very poor.

Barrow not shown any threat really.

Blackpool....Devoid of ideas,impetus some players lacking in confidence,its not good.
 
CJ possibly worst on show only Arsenal and Wolves loanees have turned up, sorry Thompson had a run.
