Blackpool v Doncaster Official Matchnight Thread 04.05.21

Another superbly disciplined performance.
Which, considering the disruption due to our long injury list and the substitutions forced on us by crap refereeing decisions, reflects really well on the players, the manager & his staff.

It feels like you could pull any 11 names out of our squad, play them and justifiably expect a win.

Expletives don’t add anything to your comment.
Well said, I think they should ban the expletives again if they re going on about unnecessarily abusive comments. Just my opinion.
Anyway a great, pretty assured 3 points.. And our season goes up another gear. Highest league position, players coming back in and looking good too.
Would love Holmes to get a half against Bristle and a goal yo top it off. Only glimpses of him but I like what I've seen. Quite a big lad but looks pretty mobile and not a bad first touch considering

Phew. Big moment getting that second goal over the line. I know Doncaster weren't at 100% intensity and we only needed a point but when it's 1-0 and it won't go in for 2-0 you don't want it to go 1-1 then 1-2.

Good game management as soon as they realised they couldn't trust the ref's part of the game. I hope Critchley mentions that afterwards because it needs saying.

Hope Gabriel OK. Not like him to go off injured.

A nice relaxed remainder of the evening now. Good stuff. Mad season.

Simms, top target for next season if in Championship.

We could end the season just 4 points behind Posh, what could have been!! We have to be the top team over the last 38 games?
I'm all focused on the what could be's. Been a bonus season so far. No one realistically saw us where we are or anywhere near.
Not even me and I'm forever the optimist 😁

I feel overjoyed and a little bit smug too!

If you don’t believe in this squad and what the coach is doing yet, then you’ll just never get it...

This team runs and runs and runs. Even in the games we’ve lost or underperformed in, effort has always been there. They give everything they’ve got for the shirt and each other.

Is that the best you can come up with? You are, constantly and you and the others like you drain the life blood out of the rest of us. I have no problem with opinions it's the small handful who just keep on ** criticising.

Great performance tonight and a great season after a terrible start.
It was a good solid win with more flare towarss the end, probably should have scored more earlier, second half had some great chances. The old finishing chances thing.

A few mistakes at times that could have led to something and made it a bit uneasy for us but luckily came to nothing. Its easy to shrug them off when nothing happens but something to be aware of.

A card happy ref on a slippy night was not what was needed.

We could have been more slick on the ball at times and as the second half later showed we are better when we do it. Against better sides in the playoffs we will have to up our game again to go up i feel. Hopefully we can do it. The players have it in them.

But for me Anderson is just a huge boost back, looks different class, Simms played well, Yates drifted a bit for me, didn't do much.

you wouldnt have even known Anderson just missed most of the season would you. Slotted in and played the game as though he was match fit.
Man on a mission, like his attitude. Don't want him to overdo it though. Someone getting wafted by a feather seems to mean six months out with no return date at the moment for our lot so I suspect he's going to be needed, probably end up at right back at some point.

Not often I say this, but I agree with every word.

We are comfortably the best team in this division, have been for many months. I said back around Christmas there are not 2 better teams, and it’s unfortunate that we’ve fallen just short of automatic.

When you look at every position (bar keeper) and our options, it’s as strong as I can recall. Keshi is class, Stewart showed his class in just a few minutes, we’re mussing CJ, missing Kaikai, missing Ward......

We should fear no team in the playoffs.

You are entitled to your opinion, I am entitled to mine. However I have never abused anyone on this board nor littered my posts with expletives which as I said add nothing to your point of view. If you don’t like my posts you have the option of the ignore button, your prerogative.

Cheers. Delighted to have a few more games to switch on the Ifollow for.
Anything could happen.. We re certainly not playoff fodder, but then we never are. Shaping up nicely
Are playoffs on follow??

I hope we get some better refs, the last few have been embarrassingly inept.

We seem to have picked up momentum again & at just the right time. It’ll be interesting to see what team he picks for Saturday. Against Barton’s relegated lot. Will it be rest as many as possible or will staying in 3rd be an advantage. Mmmm
