Blackpool v Fulham Official Matchday Thread 11.09.21

Superb result. 🤗 Fulham resorted to pumping high balls into the area towards the end (no real surprise there I suppose) A couple of tricky near the post balls curled in, which didn’t do much for my heart rate. Mitrovic losing the plot with Max right at the end. Obviously brassed off he didn’t score this weekend. There’ll be a fair few cocky Fulham fans choking on their jellied eels this evening and rightly so. Lol. 😬

Good team performance & when we start firing on all cylinders up front the goal will start to flow.

im not convinced that the are that a side, they are very pretty to watch and they have some very good individual players, but as a team they look incredibly disjointed, ill make a prediction that they are not in the top eight at the end of the season.

dont think that negates our own performance though
 
Fantastic result with some fantastic performances, Keshi was brilliant, Wintle was excellent, Gabriel was magnificent, as was the whole of the back 4 to be honest, I felt we could have been more comfortable with better decision making, especially from Bowler, but hopefully he will learn .
 
Just back home.

Thought we were excellent today in every department just amazed at the possession stats.😮

One dodgy moment from Keogh who otherwise had an excellent game as did everyone else.

Upwards and onwards to Tuesday night this win has put confidence back in the camp. 👍

Just a shame we didn’t start the season with a right back.
 
Just got home and it's the first time in a long while I've not commented during a match.
That's because I was engrossed from the first kick to the last.
EVERY player deserves enormous credit for their performance today.
Yes, we rode our luck at times but we've deserved that from the start of the season.
The high press was outstanding and everything that Critch must have hoped for came to fruition.
Plus a massive well done to ALL the Blackpool fans today, its been a long long time since the noise was that loud at Bloomfield Rd and when Bowler scored the supporters took the bloody roof off!!!

That was one hell of a match🍻👍🏻
 
Just back and have to say that was very good. By far our best performance of the season.
Individually my thoughts are these. Marv don't think he made a mistake, Keogh had another great game but one mistake nearly cost us but for Wintle. Probably Garbs best game of season too. Wintle great debut, that first 30 mins he was everywhere putting important tackles in. Assume he only got subbed because he was knackered. Thought he out performed Stewart. Bowler just has to concentrate on getting that final pass right. First half he robbed their pretty much last line defender and all he thought he had to do was playit into space but it needs more than that Just playing it into space means it's telling their players too so they can be quick to re-act. He has to be more accurate . He needs to make certain our player is gonna be first to the ball. Harsh i know but accurate. Second half great goal though and another great run where because he was under strong pressure he should have laid it off to Keshi. Yates ran his socks off. Keshi, another frustrating performance for me,Some aimless passing and crossing but as the game progressed to the final ten minutes he came on strong. and was a great outlet down the left.
Still don't see what TJJ has to offer. Some of his passing was poor/lazy and his game certainly isn't built around effort.
 
Teams are working out that we dont like the ball whipped into the back post. Defended really well today but teams are going to keep putting the ball into there and it causes a bit of chaos or their man is unmarked.
 
Was a good performance throughout the team.
A 3 point home win to celebrate is long overdue (as in a win witnessed attending the game)
Fireworks, some tins n a takeaway curry me thinks
 
Nice drive home and a chat with my lad. I posted pre-game about the starting 11 and my surprise and concern. Only right to post that the starting 11 were outstanding, and that NC got it right, again.

We’ve got a great squad now, with good cover in all positions. Wintle is a great addition, a very good player.

I do worry about Keogh and I felt his legs went at around 70 minutes. However, he did nothing wrong prior to his mistake on the half-way line.

Marv was superb

JJ was very very good and worked so hard.

Bowler grew into the game and ended up terrorising them. Great run from Gabriel to buy him space for the goal.

Keshi was outstanding, he’s getting better all the time.

Mention for Jerry, what a player, so important to us. His work, touch and link play is vital, and I hope fans get that. Should have been played in twice in the first half, but never complained, just encouraged those around him.

Well done Critch, I won’t be posting pre-match again about selections.
 
Anyone one else notice the Fulham defenders giving their keeper a hard time? He started time wasting and show boating in the 1st half and at one point had the ball taken off him for a restart as he was taking so long. He was still having handbags with one of his own when they left the pitch..
 
What a superb match. Fulham never enjoyed our constant up and at 'em approach and The Mighty Pool fully deserved to win. Whilst it was 1-0, there was always that thought of a scratty equaliser or a Pool second goal which would NOT have flattered us during an end to end second half after we had dominated the first half.
WE WERE SIMPLY MAGNIFICENT.
 
Great to watch today we looked completely equal to our opponents and at no point looked liked we were gonna be bullied by the big boys Amazing game superb result well deserved. UTMP

I will stick by my original assertion Keogh has been bobbins. However I will qualify that by saying yesterday both he and Ekpiteta were outstanding, his best game in tangerine by far. If he maintains that standard he will take some shifting, we will see.

Critchley really is an absolute diamond. People are really going to start noticing properly soon and his stock is going to go through the roof. Hopefully he realises he's at the greatest club in the land. I think he does.

Critchley is part of the fabric of the club and is in a position not attained by many in that he has an input and certain control over the whole strategy .That's a pretty unique position to be in and the journey is in its infancy.

He will naturally wish to be part of that journey and he has the opportunity to create a lasting legacy with his name and reputation on it.

It's not often in life you get to say I love the job and I have the freedom to influence and create in my own style.You either get one or the other because normally something or somebody is a limiter on those ambitions.

Critchley is at home here and is very much about taking players from the Greenhouse to the Garden.Properly rewarded he is in his own Garden of Eden I'm sure.
 
What great match.
Fulham gave their all, as expected, and their fans made a lot of noise.
They are good side and I don't think we'll see better opponents at BR this season.
However, Pool were fantastic from start finish. If we see a better game this season I'll be sirprised.
Fantastic win, looking forward to Tuesday.
C'MON YOU POOL.🤣🤣
