Blackpool v Millwall Official Matchday Thread 22.01.21

Not just us ...

"ALEX Pearce has joined Millwall’s injury list with the club captain set to be unavailable for Saturday’s trip to Blackpool.

Lions boss Gary Rowett also expects Jed Wallace to be out, while George Saville is a doubt.

Sheyi Ojo is in a protective boot after going over on his ankle against Nottingham Forest and Millwall fear Tom Bradshaw has also suffered a serious injury.

On the latter two, Rowett told NewsAtDen: “We haven’t had the final scan results back for him or Sheyi Ojo. Tom’s doesn’t look fabulous, I don’t think. I’ll reserve judgement until they come through.

“It’s a big blow that both are out because both were performing really well and were in really good form.

“It’s typical of the season, it seems like one step backwards all the time.”

Wallace had a scan last week on his quad.

Rowett added: “I think it’s very doubtful. When he picked his injury up there was then a second quad injury he’s had in quick succession so I think he’s probably looking at a couple of weeks from when he injured it.

“I’d imagine he’d be back the week after Blackpool but, again, we’ll see.

“Sav’s had a problem with his neck and he’s had a bit of sickness this week as well. He’s had a few things fired at him. (What sort of things?! 🤣)

“We’re hoping that towards the back end of the week he might be available. At this point, I don’t know.”

Pearce had got back into the team after the Lions were without players following Covid-19 cases and injuries.

He missed the 1-0 defeat to Forest on Saturday.

Rowett said: “He pulled his groin in the week so he’s another one, he’s out for a week, 10 days so he’ll be back training next week.”"

Does anyone know if we still have to produce either vaccine, or negative test proof to go in, Do 11 year olds have to provide a negative test result?

I think under 12s don't need to produce any vaccine status.
There hasn't been any updates as yet, so would imagine you still need to show proof of vaccine status if over 12.

Topscorer Tom Bradshaw is out for 3 months and Dan Ballard has a long term knee injury. They've lost their last three too. Seems like a good time to play them.

I thought Wallace is going to Forest.

They are missing a few good players. Big game for us this with the inevitable defeat at Fulham the week after.

Currently expecting Millwall to have a ‘Covid Outbreak at the club’. Can’t see them wanting to play with those injuries unless they bring some players in. Came called off on Friday AM I reckon

This is an opportunity to have a possible 17 point gap from bottom 3.

Just look at Saturday. Derby,Reading and Peterborough have tough games whilst it’s last chance saloon for Barnsley.

Should completely forget about how many players Millwall are missing. It’s all about pool and how they can get the ball in the back of the Millwall net. Strikers to finally remember how to hit the target, 2-1 pool.

I can’t wait, it seems ages since I was at Bloomfield Road (I was away over New Year so missed two games)

I’m guessing so even though it’s pointless - the vaccine doesn’t stop Omicron so enter at your own risk (unless like most of us you’ve just had it 👍😁)

How fans feel about a game has no bearing on the result - we've learnt that from experience (many times)!

However, I feel really positive about today. We've come through a slump in form and the players will be as fired up as we are. We should take no notice of all these injuries Millwall are reporting and play our game. I'd like to see Beasley start, but Critch knows best.

2-1 🍊🍊

We’ve come through the dreaded and awful as usual December fixtures, time to kick on now as we normally do UTMP 👏

Having had a week’s rest and recuperation, you’d like to think we‘ve taken the chance to exploit their weaknesses. We owe them for that late winner so there should be extra motivation. I sense a 2-0 win, hopefully….

Lavery at his best is class. Perhaps in training he’s looked back to his best, in which case could be good. He got in positions to score all day and we know he can score.
