Blackpool v Nobbers Official Matchday Thread 23.10.21

Well done, you certainly deserved that. Certainly in your shadow at the moment.

It'll be interesting to see how much FM lasts now before he goes and hopefully we will get a good, experience manager/Head Coach come in rather than take the easy option and go for the easy option of promoting from within with someone who has never been higher than just an assistant, someone who who can get players playing together, with pride, and knows what they are doing like we were under Moyse and Billy Davies, or your manager.

If you keep this up you might do as well as we did when we first came up under Moyse and end up in the play-offs and then it is any ones.

Well, we have 5 months to wait till the next instalment and we could be a totally different side by then with someone better in charge and give you a lot better challenge.

I never understood how people think they're able to judge the quality of a side they never watch. Anyone who questions the quality of our side without having seen them is probably just adding up their supposed transfer values that are guessed at by an algorithm programmed by someone who's never been in football.

The reason we're good isn't that Critch "gets the most" out of mediocre players. We're good because he identifies quality players who haven't already proven themselves in our league, and coaches them up to their full potential. He did it last season and he's done it this season. We bring in "unproven" players and they turn out to be excellent, while other clubs look for "proven" players who were originally identified by someone else and now cost 5X as much as they did to the manager who saw what they had to offer early on.

I would much much much rather have a manager who spots unproven players and gets them cheap than a manager whose targets cost a fortune because everyone already knows how good they are.

I thought Husbands MOM for me - different to Garbutt as Hubby is an out and out defender but his link up with Anderson was excellent today.
Agreed . Brought the ball down really well before his assist to Keshi.

To be fair, fella. We’ve all been there, but it’s how you accept it.
Thankyou for your dignity.

Cheers buddy, to me it’s easy to react with dignity, simple human stuff. It is what it is - we are poor & did not deserve to win.

I like what you are trying to do - chairman with a vision & great young manager.

Clearly I’d love NE to have won today but it’s not to be & no point chucking toys out the pram!

I fully expect FM to be potted. Nice guy, out of his depth. I’d prob go for Ainsworth myself.

Hoping the 2nd leg a Deepdale is a different affair!

But enjoy your night, you all deserve to.

Don’t forget if we do end up in the playoffs, we are the playoff kings.😉

Spot on with your Critch assessment, in my opinion.

Actually I agree that Husband was immense, in fact the back 4 were really excellent, Gabriel, for me is a better right back than Sterling and Sterling is a really hot prospect. to have those 2 vying for the same position is incredible.

Tho only worry today was Dougall's injury which we could ill afford, he has been excellent in the last 2 games and was a whisker away from a goal too.

Oh..... and Wintle impresses me more every game, a new manager at Cardiff may mean we lose him in January, I really hope he loves it here and wants to stay.

Grimshaw booked for time-wasting for the second consecutive game for seeing the fourth official making a substitution that the idiot ref didn't notice.

Don't want to throw too much cold water on things, but had Preston not missed that sitter in the 2nd half, the outcome could have been very different. I think Pool could be a very useful side in this division, but at the moment the jury is still out for me. as there are too many fine margins in the victories. There was a 20 minute period in the 2nd half, where the game could have been lost, and although Preston deserve some credit for giving it a go, Pool allowed it to happen by sitting back, and unnecessarily giving away possession. Lots of good things going on as well though, and we can be proud of our team. but I would like us to be good more consistently during the 90 minutes.

I didn't think we played that well today - we certainly played a lot better on Wednesday night - but we were more than good enough to put an extremely poor side to the sword. If, god forbid, I had the misfortune* to support that shower from the town with a bus station then I would be seriously worried.

* an IQ of less than 50, the inability to speak illegible English, the looks of an ugly version of Steve Cooper, etc

MOTM? Husband nowhere near, so many basic mistakes, Anderson? how the fcuk did he get hit? Some awful stiff from him. Madine? Nope he didn't do too much either.

Keogh never put a foot wrong, he was my motm.
You're on one tonight 20's. FotMob gave Hubby MOM and Keshi the 2nd highest rating.
For the record I'd have given Gabriel MOM.
I do agree Keogh had an excellent game though.

what an absolute shite post from you but there again no surprise. We beat the Nobbers. Rub it it in and then rub it in some more. Fuck em!.
So I got 14 likes for that post of mine yes 14 from clearly decent people on here and that shite from you got a well deserved zilch. That tells us all we need to know about you and what others think though of course it will never penetrate your thick skull. I am so glad so many posters like my post and none like yours, it tells me all I need to know that unlike you most on here are not bitter and twisted but decent people.

Very gracious NW in defeat, l had an exchange with a very good nobber friend of mine after the game who said similar but your biggest problem today was that you had very little creativity and were poor upfront. This allowed us to play a very steady game without having too much to do or worry about.

Yes, Keogh is looking like another very good Critch acquisition. A great personality and great experience to have with so many young players in the team. He was revving up the crowd as well towards the end and is definitely becoming a real cult figure 👍

My MOTM also but feel the criticism of the other players is both unjust and actually quite disrespectful after that win.

You see there you go , it's all about you,you you. You're so many shades of grey boring as fuck. Stick to your polite gentlemans sport of cricket and don't forget to tell us what a great coach you are. I'm a football fan and prefer to take the piss out of our fiercest rivals after beating them.

Fuck that! I hope you stay this shit or worse for ages! 🤣

The 2nd goal is just fcucking ace. To give Madine time to catch up for the return ball, Jerry chips it back over the defenders head, controls it and nutmegs him with a slide rule pass on a plate.

I was a cricket coach but never aspired to be great, just a coach who tried to help others. Pulling our rivals leg is one thing, nothing wrong with that, foul mouthed abuse though in my opinion is totally out of order and unacceptable especially when aimed at someone who is expressing .very fair ,reasonable and balanced views. but clearly that sort of thing appeals to you, everyone to their own!

I didn't aim abuse at any opposition supporter on here and neither did Kurt. Everyone to their own as you say and in your case, it's all about me me me.

My favourite bit of the match was the melee near the end. At 2 nil up it showed how much they cared. Loved it.🧡🍊
