Flying over on Tuesday from Ireland for my first home game since Millwall in Jan 2015. Just wondering what pubs if any would have a decent atmosphere with pool fans before the game (If any for midweek game) considering it’s a derby game.
 
Night games rarely have a good atmosphere in the local boozers - think you're better in the concourses to be honest and have a few scoops in there.

agree but disagree on Tuesday, the Excelsior will have a cracking atmosphere. He’s coming over from Ireland for the first time in years, he will want to sample a few in the local boozers I would assume
 
Not the new albert. Was in there for Gills at home abput three others in there. Only good point was having instant service. If you are looking for atmpsphere excelsior

I work in Bolton so obviously with a fair number of their fans and, to the best of my knowledge, none have them have ever murdered anyone.

It might actually be difficult for you to comprehend but most of them are actually nice friendly people who just happen to support the football team in their town. Also most of them, like I would hazard a guess a large majority of us on here, weren’t born at the time of the horrible incident you callously talk about.

Sorry to be really pedantic 😇 but the football team isn't in Bolton. It is in Horwich, close to where Horwich RMI's old ground, Grundy Hill, was located, just under 6 miles northwest of the town of Bolton. Pedantry mode off..... 🤓

Most horrific event that ever happened at Bloomers. I will never forget that day and I am not alone.

Me too, I was there as always with my late dad. And again as always I was with schoolmates, stood near the bottom of the Kop in our usual place. What happened that day should never be forgotten. However, it was one individual who of course as we all know ended up getting away with it, lived his life free while Kevin was gone. And yes there is that chant that some of their fans have used, which is utterly sick. But, the vast majority are not murderers nor do they sing that chant.
