Today he put his own brother, a former boss, a billionaire Tory donor a former aide and a brexiteer cricketer in the House of Lords for life. On average these jobs for life will cost British taxpayers £1.1 million per year based on average claims.
Meanwhile he's also looking for a £100,000 per year spokesperson so the lazy incompetent buffoon has to face even less public scrutiny than at the present.
Just try to let this mockery of democracy sink in and get through the blindness of cognitive dissonance.

You had a really good point to put across then spoiled it with that stupid "cognitive dissonance" crap.
Are you trying to prove your intellectual superiority by using such a phrase? Here's a tip. You're a teacher, or so I read. Then understand that good communication is worth a damn sight more than flowery phrases.

But if what the op says is true, you’ve got to admit it sounds a bit dodgy. That, and Dom awarding lucrative contracts to his mates without tender (only because it’s urgent you understand).

I seem to remember some on here get very hot under the collar about alleged NHS contracts and the Family. Freedom of Information requests and all sorts.

I think we all would have been overwhelmed with joy watching Corbyn handling this pandemic.

Are you upset that the treacherous arsehole hasnt got a knighthood ? 😛😀

But, you won’t change anyone’s mind on their political beliefs on this forum, so why waste precious moments of you life?

Seriously?

Life is too short 🤷🏻‍♂️

You can always tell when Calm Down knows he’s losing the argument.

You always get “Not going to change anyone’s mind, so why do you bother?”

Sort of raises the question why Calm Down posts really. You know. If it’s a complete waste of time.

Who’s arguing?

I’m just making statements that make your type angry - and that’s your insecurities, and resolve, not mine.

Calm down Mex, it’s only the Internet 🙂

So why do you bother when you know I'm not going to take any notice and I am going to keep pointing out the corruption, negligence and laziness of Boris Johnson. At least I have the moral argument on my side.

With respect, thats bollocks mate. The mods decided, totally wrongly, to create a political forum. So you are going to get political posts. Big mistake IMO.

Good post.

Yet though to see a socialist leader who isn't power mad and corrupt. Excluding of course our great leader Xi Jinping who quite rightly became President for life at the bequest of the people....

Their all bloody bent!

The OP raises a good point.Certainly worthy of a thread on a politics forum.

Mays knighthood is going unnoticed aswell. What exactly does he do?
As a businessman and member of the Conservative and Unionist Party what do you think he does...apart from walk through wheat fields with the blessed Theresa? He gives them shed loads of money!

Good post.

Clem Atlee, Olaf Palme both changed their country for the better Antonio Costa in Portugal and Jacinda Arden are leading their nations very successfully. Evo Morales was successful in greatly reducing poverty in Bolivia until an American backed foul forced him out of office. Funny how often democratically elected socialists have been removed by US plots over the years.

I was merely taking some of my time to give some well meaning advise.

It’s only my opinion, but the scale, frequency, anger in your posts, does make me wonder for your mental health.

Try and enjoy your weekend, give politics a miss, for a while - might do you some good?

I wonder if the o/p (or the other leftie clowns on here) ever stop to consider that if their hero, Jeremy Corbyn, hadn't been such a useless, indecisive, anti British, charisma free fool, then large numbers of previously loyal labour voters wouldn't have voted Tory and there may be a different government ?

What a stupid question I ask - of course they haven't as it doesn't suit their narrow bigoted narrative.

Refer to Left Wing playbook - stamp your feet, hurl abuse, blame the Tories and blame everyone else for your own failings.

Perfect play Cat :)

Brexit supporter Claire Fox got a peerage. Look up her views on the Warrington bombings. Kate Hoey, who embarrassingly lost the plot a long time ago, got a peerage. Strange old world.

I was just going to post on Claire Fox myself, she is an extreme libertarian and ex senior member of the Revolutionary Communist Party.
She has some very strange views including;

- It should not be illegal to watch Jihadi videos
- it should not be illegal to watch child pornography
- when she was a senior member of the RCP they said after the Warrington bombings (it is) 'the right of the Irish people to take whatever measures necessary in their struggle for freedom' - presumably including killing children like Tim Parry and another three year old.

This woman is now involved in the law making process in our country.

The Lebdyev appointment is also very interesting - he has been able to buy influence through the wealth that he accumulated during the fragmentation of the USSR. I wonder how he made his money during those chaotic times? So we now have a Russian in our parliament who also owns a couple of British newspapers. I wonder what Putin thinks about all this?

And of course not forgetting a bit of nepotism thrown in to the mix - Jo Johnson a virtually unknown one or two term MP and junior minister gets to board the gravy train.

We certainly are a diminished country - if this happened elsewhere we would laugh at the transparent corruption on display.

The stench of sleaze from this government gets stronger by the day.

The novelist Robert Harris got it right when he said we are a banana republic. But without the benefits of a republic or bananas.

The term banana republic is a politically-incorrect term to describe an economically and politically unstable, lawless country with an economy dependent upon the exportation of a limited-resource product, such as bananas. You haven't got a clue about how lucky you are to live in a country where your human rights are upheld, your welfare is taken care of and you are free to express your extreme political opinions without repercussions.

That’s yet more hysterical over reactionary nonsense from you.

You’d be better doing a bit of research on your sources and bold statements, in future work.

Surely you must teach your pupils the same basics rules on research, before they submit you their work - such as research and check your sources throughly, for accuracy?

As a self declared teacher - It does surprise me how often you make such basic of mistakes.

It makes me wonder, are flaws in the education system really all Boris Johnson’s fault?

Or ...

Do teachers like Catinstalbans have to take their share of the blame, with the poor standards of education they produce to their children and school.

Spot on.

Add to the mix former RCP members Munira Mirza, Frank Furedi, Mick Hume and Brendan O’Neill and you find the Tories have some very odd bedfellows.

That’s one of the reasons I find it hilarious when the RW frothers (morning Mr Craven 👋) starting banging on about there being so many commies on here. These days it seems to be the Conservative Party that’s run by a strange alliance of old school, hardline RWNJs and failed Marxists.

Strange times.

And seeing as I mentioned Munira Mirza (a former commie and key member of Bojo’s team) it’s probably worth mentioning her hubby Dougie Smith. He used to run Fever Parties and organise orgies for rich swingers 😮

I believe he also got a job at No 10 a couple of months back as one of Dom’s misfits and weirdos 😮😮😮

Mexboroseasider - you are, of course, correct in everything you say - I know that because you keep telling us from your exalted throne on the moral high ground.

You are the master of the left wing playbook to deal with evil people who have the temerity to question your views and offer a different perspective.

On the other hand, maybe you aren't as all consumingly smart as you think you are?

I humbly apologise for not agreeing with you 😯

As usual people trying to deflect from the corruption in this government to unfounded accusations about my professional ability.

No, you’re wrong again.

I wouldn’t deflect or deny there’s forms of corruption in all Governments. No doubt the current gravy train propped up by Whitehall too, sadly.

The accusations about your professional ability as a teacher of children - arose from your own latest example of inability to research and then post an accurate and contextually correct post, with the terminology you used.

This is why I question your professional ability and worthiness of a teacher of children, in our state educational system.

If your behaviour academically is anything to go by, I do wonder if it’s people like you who harm our education system more, than the likes of Boris Johnson?

Oh dear. Someone’s woken up with the grumps.

Did'nt Peter Mandelson have some notorious bother with a mortgage loan ? Yes it was all over the media even The Grauniad and The Mirror.😜

Oh Mexboroseasider - you bring such joy - you really are the gift that keeps on giving 😘

Not only do you execute the plays perfectly but you adhere strictly to the golden rules.

Jon Lansman must be so proud of you 😁
Not a fan of Mr Lansman actually; him being a Corbynite and all. 😂

I notice you’re not engaging with the thread topic. Any thoughts on the recent political appointments and elevations? Or the fact Johnson employs at least one failed Marxist and her hubby, who used to arrange sex parties, in No 10? Or the fact Dom has been awarding government contracts to his mates, without any tender process?

Just wondering like?

For the record, I am not particularly enamoured with Boris / Dom and the peerages they have dished out to their mates and business associates. I haven't really dug into it but I am sure there may be some deserving cases in there but, understandably, the dodgier one's grab the headlines and attract the left wing lynch mobs.

It doesn't make it right but it's hardly a shock as this has been going on as long as I can remember - Wilson, Callaghan, Thatcher, Blair, Cameron, May (and others) all rewarded some of their mates / family / associates with gongs and peerages.

Equally, I am not a huge fan of the way this government operates at times - to my mind they were the lesser of 2 evils at the last election.

What I really find depressing is the "I'm right, you're wrong and I won't even listen to your arguments because you are an idiot if you disagree with me" sneering style of politics. The complete lack of introspection by some people is scary - Trump is the undoubted master of this but there are a number of (mainly left wing) posters on here who behave that like. When the going gets tough just throw some abuse. If we are honest with ourselves, we have probably all been guilty of that at times.

You are right in that every government uses the peerage system to reward people who agree with them. However, I feel that this government is on another level as regards the cronysim that is currently happening in front of our eyes.

A couple of examples;
1) The contract for the 'world beating' track and trace app was given to a firm where one of Cummings in-laws is a director without the normal tendering process. 13 million of tax payers money is now in the pockets of family and friends via this contract and nothing useful was produced and the project has since been aborted. Why did we pay anything at all for something that doesn't work?
2) Planning permission granted for development in docklands built by party donor Richard Desmond. Planning laws ridden over rough shod by Robert Jenrick, normal decison making process is abandoned and decision is timed so Desmond avoided a large tax bill due to Tower Hamlets council.

These are two of many examples of how the UK government is now operating. They don't seem to care about the rule of law and what has been normal practise and they will do what they can to thwart the checks and balances. We are four years away from an election and the government holds a massive majority. If they carry on in this vein the stench of sleaze and corruption will just get stronger and stronger. And occasionally something will cut through to the man in the street (like the Cummings fiasco).
It's really bad for our country because it makes people cynical about politicians and their intentions. I used to think that the UK government of whatever persuasion operated in the general interest of the people of the country. I can't really believe that about this lot - it's starting to look like a massive carve up for the rich and powerful. And the NHS will be served up next.
