Bottom four

Listening to Knappers in recent weeks, it has been striking how long he has felt that this has been a bridge too far for them this season.

Are they absolutely gone though? Fifth bottom is going to be no less than 41 points this season, and even that requires Port Vale to more or less lose out. So the odds are very much against them.

It could be over on Saturday, conceivably. More likely next Tuesday, I think. I think Cheltenham and Burton will go as well.

They have an uncertain time ahead of them, it seems.

The ironic thing for me is with Pilley banged up for the foreseeable for their future, was relegation a better bet for them?
Slash the wage bill and staff numbers and almost moth ball it and hope for League Two survival?

It's last chance saloon for them, they simply have to beat Northampton at home on Saturday. With trips to Posh and Orient after that, they'll do very well to take it to the last game against Burton at home. That's probably 7 points at the absolute best.

All of this as helped them build a bigger core fan base albeit still small like Accy Stanley.
In 2k home fans they’re a conference side realistically so if they can hold out in Div 2 and lean on their academy more they’ll be fine.

The Pilley issue needs to be resolved - I don’t understand how his family still can keep the club

Ironically had Fleetwood just picked up another win, I'd have put money on them to get out.
Their plight seems as unlikely as ours now.

Surely our new TG and combined academy will be another blow for them, as that can only help us hoover up all the promising talent. I get they'll likely be operating at a different level, but still, right now they have better facilities, but not for long.

They flourished when we were at a real bad point during the boycott years, riding that wave with some fans going there, also backed by their owners cash...

It's all chaged now and we need to actually capitalise and own the whole Fylde coast, as some parts around poolfoot are apparently 50/50 and even if the numbers are small, I'd rather have it at BFC.

Charlie Adam comes across very well when he is on BBC Lancs. Just hope that they do survive . We do need a decent local derby still.
They gave us 1100 tickets & brought two blocks of seats to us.

That’s not a decent local derby.

They’ve over achieved massively and every credit for that and their training ground but the football club is non-league 👍🏼

Now we have Stockport and Wrexham, losing Carlisle and Fleetwood isn’t too bad - sooner lose Burton than Vale.
