Brexit benefit

When we landed in Greece a few days ago we went down the Non EU lane in Passport Control and the Greeks just opened up all the gates to let us all through as quickly as possible. They love the British but don't like the Serbs, Bulgarians , Macedonians . Quite a few at our hotel.

mmmm.....that's maybe how the system works but you only have to read the post about Tenerife which is Spanish to realise that it's not always the case of how it operates. Been to Italy, Greece, France and Norway recently and never had to queue anywhere. Just walk straight through.

We're not in the EU, just like Libya, Morocco etc.

Why should we expect frictionless borders to EU countries? Spain in particular has a far bigger issue with illegal immigrants than we do.

simply pointing out that the border controls are far more lax in many places including Spanish places than either you or the o/p suggests.

Maybe, but the Canaries had 60,000 illegal immigrants last year, so maybe they're clamping down on non EU citizens

The biggest group of 'illegals' in this country are people who have overstayed their visa, most of whom would fly in or out.
 
Malaga is about 90 miles from Gibraltar. Just a theory, but could it be related to how angry the Spanish are about British sovereignty of Gibraltar? I know a family who used to live and work in "Gib" and they say the Spanish often make things as awkward as they can for getting in and out.

As posted already, Canary Islands are better for queuing so perhaps not everywhere in Spain?

Most of the European nations owe us big time indeed without us they would be controlled by Germany. Good job we thwarted the NAZI idea of a European Union…. Doh!

On holiday now never had any issues at customs(ever) it takes an extra couple of minutes big deal and actually passes some time whilst having to wait for our suitcase.

Moaning for moaning sakes the Remainiacs.

Lest we forget, we were at Russia in 1856.
 
Freedom of Movement was a wonderful thing and it was stolen from by that arch moron Johnson who replaced EU migration with 3rd world ones. It could all have been done so much better and more gradually from within EFTA/EEA. That's the thing with right wingers they everything done with a big bang with no thought of consequences.

Maybe that clown Cameron shouldn’t have signed the Lisbon treaty without asking the opinion of the people he is paid to work for…..? Just my humble opinion.
As for Johnson he wasn’t fit to be an MP never mind a PM!

exactly OL , if you are polite to the Greeks they can’t do enough for you. Lovely people and fantastic Country.
They’re not too fond of Yanks, Russians or Germans either, mainly because of their attitude
 
There’s always a longish wait for me every time I enter Sweden from the UK and the Mrs walks straight through. At least I don’t get the questioning I used to get now I have residency.

One thing I like about entering the UK is they have a family lane at most airports so there is barely any wait for us with the little’un 👍

Millions of Labour voters also voted for Brexit

I would have been one of them voting for it but I was busy being ill. There was certainly no mandate for the constitutional vandalism that followed driven by a few idiots. Nobody said anything about leaving the Single Market, EFTA or the EEA. There should have been another referendum on that There wasn't one because they knew damn well they'd lose, the bunch of lying grifters.

We should ban anyone who's been to Eton from being PM, massively disproportionate number of these pampered, privileged nob heads have had the job.
Way more people have been to my old school and not one of them became Prime Minister, how can that be right!!?

Dont believe you. Maybe walk through because there were no queues. Not a case of oh we've got a soft spot for the British let's face it they all hate us now.

It was fkn daft to leave and for what some BS about sovereignty with a dollop of English jingoism-but it was 10 years ago and we have to crack on .To be fair most Tory and Labour politicians warned against it .

We gave up freedom to work ,trade freely study ,live or retire without restrictions for ours and future generations .

It was about immigration and look how that has worked out .

Last election there were nearly 200 lawyers lying to win votes, Braverman being one of them, her as PM would be a scary proposition.
Should probably rule out investment bankers and hedge fund managers aswell as how can you trust them to make decisions that benefit the country and not themselves.
Luckily Rees Mogg is no longer an MP he would be doubly barred from being PM.

Do you believe ,if you write BS it becomes true - you cannot go and work where you want - including EU,Australia, New Zealand,Canada or the USA to name a few .

Ruled by eurocrats ? That's just another piece of propaganda that did not stand to scrutiny-we had a veto,we never would have joined the euro .
 
Having looked and searched long and hard in the last 9 or so years not seen any, plenty of project fear stuff has proved to be bang on the money.
