Bristol City away - looking forward to it

Clearly never went to any games then
Not midweek no. Last five there was 285/553/460/816/487. Can't remember before that but always seems less than 500. Sounds like the allocation should be used this time.

Thanks , Free or pay parking ? And are there plenty of spaces
Used to be. Not even looked to see if it still exists but presume so. There was a charge and will have probably changed now like everything else but was about a fiver. There's other options but it had a bar. I've parked near the ground in an industrial estate as well but a ballache after.

Says seat 708 when you have a look on the ticket site.

So presume that's how many sold, 707?

Still a while to go and maybe potg too?

This thread is the author giving himself a large pat on the back for going to Ashton Gate. A couple of weeks ago he couldn't give a fuck when the Rangers game was called off as he couldn't actually make that one himself and said on here the game should never have been arranged.

Its funny how his law works. If anyone can't make Bristol City themselves, and there will be numerous reasons why people can't but by his law, it doesn't make you much of a fan 😟
To be fair not attending a pre season friendly isn’t the same as the first game of the championship season! Totally different ball park, pre season friendlies are just that. You may well be right though, the post may have been motivated with a tinge of self gratification! But I’m not going to Bristol so I can’t talk😉

You are right there's a big difference, I agree. The point I was trying to make is if Phil was travelling up for the Rangers game he'd be marketing that as a glamour prestigious friendly, and probably started a thread bemoaning the number of tickets we'd sold and saying our fans don't deserve the club we've now got, or something along those lines. 😜 🎣

went when megson was manager with the delayed kick off - must have been the last fans returning home it took us that long.
i aint going again 😆

Looks like one or two on here have dusted off their 'Excuses For Not Going To Watch Blackpool Away If It's Too Far' manual.

Saying that, they'd probably be going if it was the last game of the season and we needed a results to go up.
Yep and some are the most vocal when it comes to telling us all how good ticket prices are

You can bet your bottom dollar that if we drew Liverpool away in the cup they would be clamouring for away tickets

Maybe its time to reward the people who put the hard miles in away from home

Some sort of away banding system would work (probably deserves a thread of its own)

I want 45 miles added to my away fan passport.

Done

But all joking aside if we did get Liverpool or Utd or someone and only got 3k tickets how would they sort with us having close on 8k season ticket holders these days

Maybe it would go to the season ticket holders from the previous season as a priority

I actually think away tickets should go to the folk who get off their arses and travel away first

Maybe one for the SLO ...

For the Cods it was a ST and attendance of a few aways(purchace history bought from the club) in a season.

But it was announced(Wiz might remember exact wording) if a situation arose the amount of years you have had a ST discounting the boycotting years would be taken into consideration.
Not sure of start date.

There should be 3 types of away season tickets available. One for all the away games and 1 each for the Northern / Southern games, that way, those of us that only do away games have a chance of getting a ticket for the limited availability, glamour games.

I asked the question in the shop on Tuesday when picking up my Morecambe tickets and although he couldn’t tell me anything at the time he did suggest they will be introducing a scheme. Hopefully a similar scheme as before that benefits those ST holders who have also purchased a certain number of away tickets getting first dibs for the big away matches.

I get Phil's argument, but if a fan only goes to away games and never goes to a home game (for whatever reason) they aren't giving any of their hard earned to BFC.

I bet there are one or two season ticket holders who haven't been to an away game since Old Trafford.
Would you do a 500 mile round trip every fortnight ? That's why I don't need a season ticket and do away games only.

The Fleetwood FA Cup game? If so, I thought that was a ballot from the season ticket holders.

We were drawn away to either Yeovil or Fleetwood, as soon as Fleetwood won the replay, the scramble began.

It would have been a different story if Yeovil had won and we had a trip to Somerset.
Our last away game before Lockdown in Lge 1 ST plus away booking history the Fa cup was a ballot ages ago.
Didn't go season before as boycott was on but plenty went in the home end.

I'm not having a go, just putting my point across. I get your point about giving revenue to the club but a season ticket just isn't justifiable to me as I would probably use it once or twice so each game would cost me £180 !

I think some sort of system that rewards the people who go away with away priority is the way forward

Home season ticket holders get a guaranteed seat at a reduced price already

Surely that's reward enough...
That’s quite a good idea Phil !

And if home games class as away games for those cross-border fans then there should be a category for them too. Just thinking of Dumfries and Simonite of course.

it’s actually another of your better ideas 👍

A lot of clubs do have away travel ideas so they get hold of tickets BUT the one thing in common with all of them your home attendence record also gets taken into consideration first, would be a bit weird otherwise.

Fuck me Phillip it's only Bristol, not the other side of the world, I realise you don't get out much but still...

The Fleetwood game 2 seasons ago I think you needed to show you had done 2 away games. Some sort of system like that works IMO for the more in demand games

Love to go. No trains to Temple Meads that day sadly so a no goer
How do you know that? I looked on the National Rail website for August 7th, Bristol Parkway - Temple Meads and it was giving times as usual. My son will be going from West Wales. I've also checked out the trains from Temple Meads to Pearson Street (a 4 minute ride) and from there it's a 15 minute walk to Ashton Gate.

Pearson Street not wheelchair accessible. I checked

blackburn and preston where we will probably get 5000+ tickets. How many other games will we sell out our full away allocation? None would be my guess so don't see need for some away ticket reward system. If you want to go to an away game I really don't see a problem for anyone getting a ticket.

Bournemouth might not be easy. Guess we’ll find out next month

Iit is interesting to note, from the local information about Bristol thread, that our last two turnouts at Bristol were 487 and 819 fans. I think any turnout upwards of 500 will be decent in a situuation where we are not out of the pandemic yet.
