BSL British Super League

The Catcher in the Rye

Well-known member
Well now the European League is dead and buried it would seem there is a renewed vigour to reform the set up at the top level. I read that there are revived proposals to admit Rangers & Celtic to an initially expanded EPL of 22 clubs with a plan to slowly reduce membership through a gradual weighted relegation to promotion quota to an 18 team set up which is the preferred option of the ‘big six’.
Previous stumbling blocks to this plan include the Scottish League and member clubs vetoing it but it would seem the tide of opinion is changing with the other clubs are happy to wave goodbye to the Old Firm for a variety of reasons.
Maybe something in it??🤔

Dont see any difference in scope in general to the ESL, hopefully no european competition for celtic and rangers, they dont get access to that level of funding at which point they drop into the championship and lower and quickly scuttle back to the scottish leagues.

You couldn’t expect the Scottish clubs to take them back once gone, that wouldn’t be fair!

All bollocks

No problem Derby but I don't know what you were trying to say.

I didn't mean they were all identical, just that they are all about clubs/leagues working in their own best interests.

To be honest, I was surprised that so many were surprised at the European Super League thing.

Obviously not as surprised as the 6 Prem sides mind.

I think Rangers, as identifying as English, should be allowed into the English leagues. They've as much right to it as Cardiff and Swansea without doubt. And if allowed into the English league structure would certainly be able to have the resources and get to the level in order challenge both the Welsh clubs on a regular basis.

The Welsh clubs would give us a better challenge mac, there's nothing in Scotland that can 😁

I think you will find Rangers fans will identify themselves as ‘British’ they certainly do not identify as English
