Building for next season

While I’m not completely ruling out the playoffs (mathematically possible and plenty of games left) I feel Grayson is trying to build a promotion worthy squad for next season.

Getting rid of the deadwood like Nottingham, Anderson, Yussef, I imagine Tollet and Devitt will be on their way too. Bringing in Ward, Thorniley and Madine on permanent transfers, given them a chance to bed in now so they’ll be good to go and hit the ground running for next season.

I never expecting promotion this season. It’s just frustrating that the league is so open and if we were a bit more bold, a bit more attacking, a bit less Graysonball, we’d have a sniff this year. But I’ll give credit where credit is due and also the benefit of the doubt. He’s inherited a lot of dross and needs time with “his own squad.” And that’s coming from someone who can’t stand him

I think when you look at our first team squad now compared to the start of the season, it's far better.

Another keeper. Another right back. Another striker and we've got a chance this year.

I see it the same way you do. This is much more about next season for me, and anything that might happen this season is a bonus.

I give all of them - owner, CEO, manager, scouts/recruitment team - huge credit for being so proactive. A transfer window like this is unprecedented as far as I can remember, and I hope our supporters back them to the hilt for the twenty games we have left.
