.. and they all probably have bigger budgets and are close to where he lives!

Barnsley, Huddersfield Town and Rotherham United are reportedly keeping tabs on Sheffield Wednesday midfielder George Byers.
A popular figure in S6, Byers has been on the Wednesday books since 2021 but was deemed surplus to requirements by Danny Rohl. He was allowed to join Blackpool on loan in February and was a hit at Bloomfield Road.
Although the Tangerines missed out on the League One play-offs, Byers shone with a number of all-action midfield displays. It appears unlikely he will return to the Owls fold this summer and is said to have attracted a host of admirers.

If he was on £14k at Sheffield Wednesday - 28 in a few weeks - be interesting to see what expectations he has.

Bolton Wanderers have reportedly enquired about George Byers with the Sheffield Wednesday midfielder set to become a free agent this summer.
Byers spent the second half of the season on loan at Blackpool, making 16 appearances as the Seasiders narrowly missed out on a play-off spot. Neil Critchley’s side ended up in eighth place, three points behind Barnsley, following a frustrating defeat at Reading on the final day.

The 27-year-old helped Wednesday secure promotion to the Championship during the 2022/23 campaign, scoring six goals in 29 matches including an instinctive finish in a 2-0 victory at the Toughsheet Community Stadium.

If we got madden n rhodes they’d possibly be the oldest strike partnership in the clubs history?
I don’t like the thought of that and is madden slow? Injury prone?
Rhodes n Yates (loan) would be a better option if we could manage it.
