Calderwood goes

I’d understand if it was a manager role.

To leave for a club 2 divisions lower, in the same role (assistant manager) is confusing.

Got to get a very good replacement in
We will because that it the type of club we are now. Interesting he is serving a notice period rather than just unsticks and off you go - again professionalism. What's the betting we send someone on loan to Northamton by the end of the window? John Brady reminds me a lot of Critch so would be perfect for our younger players development.

The fact they’re making him serve his notice suggests they’re not massively happy … maybe he thinks he gets the No.1 job there at some point?

Bad news that, has he really gone to be assistant manager? Bizarre if true.

It shows his lack of ambition. We're an attractive proposition now so we should be able to get somebody equal or better.

It might also stop all these people stating he was instrumental in our success when a lot was down to all the new players who came in.

In Critch we trust

He has a genuine thank you from me, as defensive coach this is the best defensive Blackpool side I imagine any of us have seen in our various lifetimes.

Most clean sheets, least goals conceded in the division. There is no downplaying Calderwood's influence on our season and it is a genuine loss - good luck in the future Colin!

I am not concerned about Calderwood leaving. He was just one of the factors in the improvement in the team defensively, players such as Dougall & Ballard also helped. We are a progressive club now and im sure we will have plenty of applicants for this role if the management believe we need a replacement.

Thought he has left to go be their manager, but he's gone as assistant manager

Seems a bit strange to go from assistant manager at Championship club Blackpool, to assistant manager at League Two club Northampton Town.

This site makes me laugh….

Loads have Calderwood down as the man behind the defence.

Loads think Ballard will come back because NC will be coaching him.

Loads are in both the camps above!

🤔
Are u saying , Ballard will not return now as calderwood has left
or maybe I dont understand lol 🙈

Shame this, he brought experience and a bit of League 1 nous that maybe Critch didn't have, we certainly seemed to improve after he arrived.
Hopefully we can get a decent replacement, someone with a bit of Championship experience. How about a Critch & Ollie combination 🤫 (I'm joking btw)

So one would come to the conclusion that Critch doesn't want CC here anymore. Let's see how Critch goes on without him.

Big mistake imo.

Edit: Seems he's leaving for family reasons which I suppose is fair enough. Thanks Colin for all you have done for us!

Everyone leaves Blackpool FC at some point (other than the fans) , thanks for what he do , good luck. Now leave it to them to arrange a suitable replacement, disappointing but nothing more.
