Calderwood Influence?

Anyone any thoughts about Calderwood having an influence on the teams performance/mental attitude etc?

Surely it’s not just coincidence that our turnaround in performances has happened since his arrival!

Okay, it is early days and I know a lot of posters on here have regularly said that the team will come good.

Whatever it is, long may it continue.

He had an influence immediately. You could tell by the way he was with the players warming up before the first game 👍

I believe his defensive coaching abilities will come to the fore as time goes on , which of course will help us massively!

Our winning run started before CC came on board. However, since CC joined us, our goals against count is extremely encouraging !

I think the turnaround probably started before he arrived, but I doubt we would have kicked on like we have without him. We will never really know though.

None whatsoever in my opinion. Far too early to have had any real impact .
Interesting comment
How many times do you see teams on the brink suddenly do an immediate turn around in form when someone new comes in?
I agree with Clappers. NC appeared to be struggling to get the best out of the players yet over the course of the last few games we look like a completely different outfit.

I think an experienced new guy will always have an impact on an inexperienced set up. But I also see these thoughts creeping in that everything bad that happens is down to Critchley, and if anything good happens it must have been caused by something else (not necessarily this op, but just in general).
The buck stops with the manager - good and bad. Any praise for a turnaround in results should predominantly be aimed at Critchley, even if we're rightly acknowledging that Calderwood may have had a positive effect. The change in style of play and the improvement defensively that has started to yield results actually began before Calderwood turned up.
There's still a long way to go this season too, this run could well continue but we could still lapse into the early poor results, time will tell.

We’ve played two relegation hopefuls, a non league team and a youth team since he’s been here.
The last two weeks have really told us nothing about the team, the club or the management outside of Critch finally realised his formation was ineffective and changed it.

The next 8 games, will define our season. By the end of the Sunderland game we ll pretty much know par for the course this season.

We’ll also know the true extent of Calderwood’s influence and if these past few weeks have been a mirage for NC or they were the start of something good.

they are a coaching team and Critch has the final say on everything. He’s just getting better advice IMO and credit to him he isn’t too proud to listen to it and act on it.So Coach Critch has gone up in my estimations and hopefully will have been forged by fire👍

it’s very easy to want him to succeed. That’s all the people who were critical of him really wanted.

CC's arrival has had an effect on the team 100%.

As Clappers said NC really must have been on the verge with SS.

We have changed the way we play completely since he arrived.

I'm not saying it's all down to CC arriving at the club but there must have been discussion about the toothless and pretty much pointless way we were playing.

We are now both playing football and playing to our strengths as and when required.

NC looks happier and more confident. It's got to be good he has a man in his camp who has been all over league football for years as a manager and player. I'd also imagine it's not in NC's nature to hand out the bollockings. Also nice to have someone to do that allowing NC to focus on the football.
