Can’t even beat bloody Wimbledon

That miss was embarrassing from Fonz. Took the keeper of out the way and fumbled his way into missing an open net without shooting.

Ronan, Moore, Feeney and Maxwell did well today. The rest were so-so against awful opposition. We lack leadership, pace, tempo and belief/confidence. We just don't shoot enough and the few times we do are shanked, weak, limp offerings. The whole squad need a massive kick up their backsides ahead of Tuesday, no excuses, it needs to be full throttle and get at Bolton.

Embarrassing, no other way to put it
One of the first rules of football . If you get a tanking like Wimbledon did against Oxford , you do not , under any circumstances get beat in your next game . Thems the rules. As soon as that match finished todays game was earmarked for 0-0 It actually would have been better for us if they had got a 1-0 undeserved defeat last mid week .

Thanks, Newbury, you summed up in a few words what I had been struggling to put into print. Our end product is abysmal and we certainly missed everybody's Aunt Sally today, I think Gnands would have bagged a couple at least. As for the vitriolic posts against Nuttall, I hoped he would have been given a start today to show us how good/bad he really is. I note one poster in another thread still saying he gave a penalty away at Ipswich, so what? If people are going to say things like that they should also include others who have given a penalty away. That was a long tiring day for little enjoyment apart from the pre-match gathering.

Fonz is capable of scoring good goals but they are usually split second opportunities - ie. when he doesn't have time to think too much.

It comes down to confidence. They're trying too hard to making sure rather than instinctively hitting the ball. Fonz would have scored a couple yesterday if he had a scintilla of confidence. Instead he's over thinking it and making sure with an extra touch.

Fonz has struggled to find the net throughout his career.

But people have decided to judge Wimbledon on their previous result. Last weekend they drew 2-2 away to Rotherham, which is an excellent result.

Thought we played some decent football and Ronan is a class above. However, we just don't seem to be able to threaten the opposition goal (apart from Armand, and we missed him yesterday). We put plenty of balls in the box but I don't recall their keeper making any saves of note. Meanwhile, Maxwell made 3 or 4 very good saves. Hopefully it will get better now we seem to be playing a bit more passing football. Nice to get the clean sheet too.

Maxwell also got seriously lucky with some shit saves that he fumbled , luckily to no one
He’s not a good keeper imo

Agree the worst squad of players I can recall in decades.
That is absolute nonsense. The championship relegation squad or the squad the next season to league 2.

It's the system set up and the confidence that's been the problem for most of the season. We've got a good enough squad to be challenging top 6. It's gone too far now and a new manager is needed NOW rather than in the summer. They're making a big mistake taking weeks/months to make a decision.

Confidence is huge in football at any level. I actually think our squad is pretty good with some great players at this level in Ronan and Dewsbury Hall. What we lack is any real structure, purpose or playing style and that all important confidence to go out and win the game rather than the hope that someone might nick us a goal and get us a cheeky win. We need someone to come in and say this is how we play, get with the programme and fall in line or you wont be in the team. It still seems a mish mash of styles to me.
