Can Rangers win the SPL again?

Despite having everything in their favour, the YES campaign was soundly beaten with the NO's attracting more than 55% of the vote.
Just in the interest of fairness and a balanced argument I don’t think that the YES campaign had everything stacked in their favour.
There was the political propaganda machine of the three national parties, Tory, Labour & LD’s against them along with almost the entire Scottish press, Daily Record, Scottish Sun, Mail, Express & The Scotsman were all backing NO, I think there was only The Herald supporting YES if I recall.
And most of all the blatant lies put out by the NO campaign that the only way Scotland could ensure EU membership was to remain in the UK, then couple of years later UK votes to leave EU taking Scotland with it who overwhelmingly voted remain.

That all sounds good but in reality the votes of the 16 and 17 year olds and all the sausage rolls resident in Scotland was a massive advantage and they still got a sound beating.

There are obviously plenty of folk who are proud to be both Scottish and British they are just less noisy.

It's a shame that so many on here appear unable to accept the results delivered by referendums.

Apologies for being overly pedantic Founts but if there was one win each in the old firm matches and two draws, I'd still fancy one of the old firm to win the league.

Rangers could win the league despite getting the worst of the old firm gets as could Celtic.

Rangers are going to kick 11 points clear and then the scoreboard pressure is going to ensure that the league flag is coming home.

Can the AVFTT post bookmarker kindly bookmark this post please.

I don’t see how an independent Scotland could fund itself and maintain the current standard of living. That’s the bottom line and one which swings it every time to the Union when the pencil hovered over the ballot paper.

the ongoing popularity of the SNP is to do with People who don’t necessarily want independence voting for them because they like their domestic policies but safe in the knowledge that they can’t do anything to carry through independence thanks to that last referendum.

9 points clear today 🙌🙌🙌
They struggled to get that second goal today allowing Killie a chance and a route back into the game which they didn't take. It's important that Rangers win these games when they are dominating them and don't have too many if any slip ups. It's likely to be a case of both who makes the most slip ups and then the outcome of games between them. I hope Rangers do it.
They don't seem to be as reliant on Morelos this season so far.

Yet to lose a game yet Rangers, and that includes Europa League qualifiers and group stage.

Celtic from an outside perspective seem a bit shite this year so looks like they're failing the 10 in a row. Early days yet though.

To be fair to Celtic they've had a few key players missing for games

Rangers don’t have the strength in depth Celtic have..especially at full back..good 1st 11 but will toil if injury strikes badly.

Rangers will win the league for the simple reason Lennon is useless and their best player Griffiths is off he head

It’s good they are back really. The financial shenanigans stripped Scottish football of any form of competition for the best part of a decade, not that there was much of it to start with.

The last time another team won it in Scotland was 36 years ago. It's the biggest 2 horse race anywhere and it's not even been that the last ten years. Completely different to England.

Almost unbelievable how much Gerrard has turned them around this year.

Yet to lose a game in any competition, topped their Europa League group, have only conceded 4 goals in the League.

All this talk of Celtic & Rangers joining the EPL why don’t the premier league make a gesture & loan them the top 3 English Premier League clubs. Top 3 geographically I mean . Surely Burnley can do a Hearts & get relegated and maybe , just maybe Newcastle could win a trophy?

We all seem to be going a little off topic gents so in answer to the question posed on the thread title:

I think Rangers will win the league yet again next season.

Yes sure they will win championship but his record on the trophy front is poor. That League Cup will be 0 out of 7 trophies won for him in a two horse race since being appointed.
always disliked him😁

Did you see the Rangers line up?
A mixture of youth and second string players.
Nice to see Alnwick in goal for St Mirren and progressing to the semi finals. 👍

Gerrard is getting criticism for his selections last night but he played a far stronger side than I expected him to.

This season is not about the league cup, it is not about the Europa League, it is not about the Scottish Cup and is all about #55.

Even more so when folk look back in future years.

Incorrect, Rangers are desperate to win a major trophy. Sure the league title is more important than the league cup but they are desperate to lift a trophy.
No major trophy in 10 years

No major trophy in 10 years

At the start of this season:

Rangers only win the League Cup = chit season

Rangers only win the League = great season

Before last nights match:

Rangers only win League Cup = chit season

Rangers only win league = great season

Now:

Rangers don't win league = chit season

Rangers only win league = great season

It was always only going to be about the league and I don't think that anything has changed.

That is not to say we wanted to lose to St Mirren but you can't win them all.

To be fair they haven't won anything . . . ever in their whole existence . . . apart from promotion from the lower divisions . . .bless

Rangers have been champions of Scotland on no less than 54 occasions.

I am wondering whether we go with the football authorities or the view of Leither from AVFTT.

If your same club #payyourtaxbill..Rangers weren’t relegated or demoted to bottom division..they were admitted as a new club...they created a fable it was the Company that was liquidated..

Shall we go with the opinion of Seasider Sam from AVFTT, Leither from AVFTT or all of the football authorities ?

That was the old Rangers who ceased to exist in 2012 . . the current Rangers have won nothing in their 8 years. Factawentoutofbusinessmundo 🤣🤣

I will go with HMRC who is owed over 50 million from the liquidated club, 2020.The same club I think not until you pay that tax bill.

You are boring me now Sam and I will still be listening to the football authorities.

Perhaps they will as kind as to put a little asterisk on their honours list to explain to folk that Seasider Sam and Leither from AVFTT don't recognise their achievements.
