Can we bring in Scooby Do about Lubala?

Quote from Scrafton last night "Bez Lubala remains unavailable due to a mysterious ‘club matter’."

WTF is going on? This is rolling in to another season and still nothing from the club.

Silence in this case is not golden. Either ditch the lad and cancel his contract or at least be open about what has happened.

We don’t know what the issue is, it could be some sort of mental health problem which they want to deal with in confidence. I can’t see how it’s a disciplinary issue, otherwise the club would have dealt with it and made a statement.

It is very strange though.

I see on Lubala Instagram that he was back in the gym and Grant Ward commented sayings Bez is back. Not sure what has happened but could be mental health you never know. It is strange though.

If you worked in a shop and were off then the managers would be entitled to protect your privacy from customers asking why you weren't there. Ultimately a footballer is an employee like any other.

We simply don't know. It could be mental or physical. He could have suffered a berievement or had a breakdown, have contracted a bad illness he's sensitive about or numerous other things.

I hope he's back soon as, whilst he didn't really make a lot of impact, he had a very likable attitude and I hope he can resume his career, if not with us, then somewhere else.

I do agree about the privacy issue, however I think if the club had said a personal matter rather than a club matter it would have put a lot of posters minds at rest. A personal matter covers a lot of things that are, well, personal. Calling it a club matter sounds a lot more ominous and leads to all sorts of, probably well off the mark, speculation.

Something is seriously wrong that’s for sure and he won’t be making the 25 man squad, so l doubt if we will ever see him again IMO!

As long as it doesn’t destabilise the squad morale we just have to let the situation, whatever it is, work it’s way through to a conclusion.

It's also strange with Nutts. He seems to back with the squad and training but not getting any minutes on the pitch.
He's got his picture on the squad list on the official site unlike Lubala and Howe who's also "missing out of action".
I wonder if Teddy is out on trial with another club?

There is a natural intrigue when its put down to a "club matter", as that makes it sound like some interesting behind the scenes shenanigans. It's made all the more intriguing when he tweets about the club on match days, yet basically has nowt to do with the club I assume - I don't think he is even in training

Nuttall's is an odd one, we are all aware it is a personal matter with him but he's been back training since the end of last season and doesn't seem anywhere near a match day squad. Makes you wonder if he's over his issues but just not rated. Feel for the lad battling demons, but I hope we've learnt from that deal as a 3+1 on high wages for an untested youngster was a massive gamble that massively backfired on us, Grayson still hindering the club from "beyond the grave" the ol' devil

Scrafters repeating that quote last night in his report .. wonder if he knows and isn't allowed to say?

a lot now comes under data protection one wrong word by the club and they could end up being sued

Whatever has happened i am sure if he /club wanted us to know then they would of put a statement out, just hope he will be ok in the long run and it,s nothing to serious, mental or health issues, wish him well

The concern is that he will be drawing wages and not contributing to the club on the field
and that money will possibly be coming out of Simon Sadlers own pocket.

A

personal matter isn’t specific enough to encourage a law suit, but it would quell a lot of guesswork.👍
it is if its medical and he doesnt give consent or if it is anything that is a discipline issue data protection is based on personal information so couldnt be disclosed tothe press or on their website without permission
Lets say your employer tells another employee that you are off sick with mental health he is then breaching data protection the company can be fined and you could sue themas you might not want your collegues to knowyour health situation

Let’s just except that he probably won’t play for us again then we don’t need to worry about it.

Has anyone checked the ghost train recently? They’re always running something on a fairground!

Looks like he has deleted his Instagram account. He posted yesterday sayings he's back so not sure what's going on.

Agree same as Nuttall. Get Nuttall loaned out, surely there’s a league 2 club who’ll take a punt even if they just pay half his vastly inflated wage. Drain on the clubs resources. Personally think Lubala has talent and would persevere if that’s an option.

My guess is that it is to do with a conflict of interest with him running football tournaments to find new pro footballers under his blballers company that the club maybe aren't in agreement with. Maybe it risks overstepping some kind of agent v. player line or that the club simply believe he isn't giving his playing career the full attention, or maybe he is using his position at BFC as an advert for his other interests. He might even have something in his contract that prohibits other employment especially football related.

I don't think it's anything to do with his mental state as his messages online including those promoting his company all seem positive.

Scrafton clearly thinks he's on his way out ...

Final 25-man squad doesn't have to be named until transfer window closes. Highly doubt Lubala will be included though.
