Quoted £652.73 by Halfords to fit a new radiator and coolant. Honda Civic 07 plate.. been told it's a rip off price.
That sounds about double. I'd imagine the rad costs about 70 and the coolant 50(?) and fitting 200 tops.Quoted £652.73 by Halfords to fit a new radiator and coolant. Honda Civic 07 plate.. been told it's a rip off price.
Avoid Halfords like the Oystons!
Just use an independent local garage
When I passed my test in the 80's I scouted round for a good mechanic, found one in Fleetwood who was reasonable and good, 10 years later he retired and recommended me another one. Used him ever since. Same when I bought a house, a good plumber/gas man, electrician is a must. Only time I use multi national chains is for tyres in emergency.Quoted £652.73 by Halfords to fit a new radiator and coolant. Honda Civic 07 plate.. been told it's a rip off price.
+1 for A&P they have been brilliant for me, been going there for 15 years at least.Get yourself to A&P on Common Edge Road
That's pretty much what I put the cost at in my earlier post. Replacing a radiator on your Honda isn't rocket science and the new radiator prices aren't that much.Since booked in they said between 2 to 300. It's Chester so more expensive here but sure beats £652. Plus it's a Honda and they're more expensive to fix than say Ford's or Vauxhall's.
2 hours labour if they're including a long lunchNEVER, EVER USE HALFORDS. £60-80 for a new rad, let's say £20 for coolant, even if you say 2 hours labour at £100 an hour, they're robbing wankers.
