Charlie Adam Tweet

Charlie Adam tweeted Scrafton earlier suggesting Blackpool needed some older pros in addition to a young, developing squad following the Gazette article about Blackpool’s business so far this window

Could this mean he sees himself as the answer should Sadler come calling when his contract expires at the end of the month?

Sorry to burst your bubble, but he quashed this 3 hours ago

Charlie also mentioned that it’s been a struggle being down south away from his family - surely if the right offer was on the table it’s something he would consider?

He's selling his house in Poulton, I doubt he's wanting to return north.

That's why we should go for Richie Smallwood 29 years and a defensive midfielder, being released by Blackburn. Was in the Blackburn team that was promoted from League 1 and did well at Rotherham prior to that!

I sorry but can we drop this obsession with CA. I have said it before he will only be interested in coming back when we are the best offer on the table and by the time this happens he won’t be good enough. He had his chance to return last season and showed us all what he considers to be important money, money and money. Not even having his family living only a few minutes drive away was enough of a reason to turn down some extra cash. He will always be seen as a legend of the modern BFC and let’s just leave it there.

How many of you would take a reputed £10k a week pay cut to come back?? reading paid him stupid money and like it or not we couldnt compete

Hopefully he will never come back. It didn't work for Bardsley or Stokoe and it rarely does for anyone. I'd like my memories of the player he was for us not to be tainted by more recent ones of the player he now is.

Cant see Charlie ever playing for us again. I can see him becoming a coach with us in the future as it is well reported that he has done some of his badges. He was given the nickname parched at Liverpool as every time the players had a break in training he would rather go and chat to the coaches than have a drink of water with the rest of the guys.

Ormerod did ok on his swansong

Ormerod also was our secret agent at PNE. As such, I'd argue that he didn't successfully come back, because in his heart he never left.

He is still too good for league 1 anyone who thinks he won’t be a success if he came back don’t know football.

Would you turn down 1 million quid even if it involved living in Reading for a year?

Depends on how much money I already had in the bank and balance that against living away from your family for money you probably don't really need, so maybe I would. Sad world we live in if its all about money ( I accept its important but not everything).

Christ that story of the preseason for the 09/10 campaign in Devon is hilarious and sums up the club.

We were in the 2nd tier of English football, one league below the best league in the world and we let a random barman from some random pub have a trial because he told (I'm assuming) Holloway he was a good player. Hilarious.

Charlie has made his money and his kids seem happy on the Fylde at schools. The tweet sounds like he sees that as his role in the future and, for me, alongside some of the kids he'd be absolutely perfect. Imagine this board if he signed .. meltdown time!
