Charlie Patino to sign?

Very young but a bit special. Would be an interesting signing if it comes off.

Edit : just searched it out and looks like it comes from a reliable source.

Only 18 but very highly regarded. Not sure if hes a forward, winger or midfielder but could be a cracking signing

I’ve read stuff in the past season that said Arteta’s waiting for the right moment to unleash him in the first team. Exciting to be the first team to get him on loan if it does happen.

Bases his play on Cesc Fabregas, ball winning midfielder who drives the team forward. Interesting signing, very highly rated but not deemed ready for Arsenal first team squad yet.

Can see how Appleton sold himself in the interview. King of Loans.

Lot of hype around the lad when he bagged against Sunderland. Could be a goer.

Can’t say I know much about him at all - but at only 18 the player or Arsenal will not likely expect him to start every game, nor will the loan cost much and we certainly need numbers and competition in the middle of the park, especially so those with creativity. And if the kid is anything like Cesc Fabregas then bring him on !! Appleton clearly has the trust of the big clubs to develop their youth - even more so than Critchley it seems. I just hope this kid has an attitude similar to Ballard as opposed to John-Jules

I seem to remember that Tyreece John-Jules was another star in the making when Arsenal loaned him out.
Dan Ballard was the last time we got the heads up off the Arsenal U21 websites and links. TJJ just sort of seemed to happen as a consolation prize/saw us coming asking if they had anyone else thing when we asked if we could have DB again. Their loans manager earns his salary as a revenue source. A club within a club.

I take it he was the very exciting player they have been going on about, from what ive heard about him he is a serious player, is he championship quality? Time will tell but he is definitely rated as one of if not the biggest prospect in their academy so as far as loans go it is an exciting signing

Prem youth loans is probably one of the few times where offering Squires Gate in winter becomes a USP for the club. Blowing a gale, pissing down horizontally and then Gary Goals lands on you in a 50:50 and pats you on your head. What a great learning to take back to your bubble.

Potentially exciting signing. But a slight word of caution. One of the criticisms of that early Critchley side that struggled initially in league one was that there wasn't enough experience in the side. If this deal goes through, we'll have signed a 21 year old, a 20 year old and an 18 year old who will all have been promised game time. We really could do with looking to upgrade some of our experienced players too like Madine and Dougall.

Aye… “You’ll never win anything with kids” 😉

He used the loan market well at Lincoln, I was hoping he'd do the same here. Hopefully this is one that will excite, and not another JJ.

Fingers crossed it gets confirmed as he looks promising - big step up for the lad.

As long as he knows the levels himself with his own squad planning input. What you get away with in league one you might not in the championship.

Club are obviously trying for a mix but the easiest ones to sort usually get done.

JJ had too many expectations put on him as he was a striker/forward.

Head of scouting at Arsenal, Sean O’Connor, described Patino as the "best player who has ever walked through the doors at Hale End"
Arsenal scout Brian Stapleton called Patino "the best kid I've ever seen."

So he's got a decent amount of plaudits
