Charlton v Blackpool Official Matchday Thread 27.02.21

Comfortable when they had 11 on the pitch, then when they had 10, and THEN when they had 9

A good day at the office. Crewe at home on Tuesday, YOUUU POOOOooOOOOL!

A very good, hardworking performance. Generally dominant especially defensively, but all the big decisions went our way, and still not enough goal threat from the front four for me.
If you don’t concede though always a good chance of getting the win.

happy happy happy.
Simms had a game and a half, Yates is playing like a player who expects to score goals, Virtue seems to be back to his old self, all over the pitch and gets a goal and might have been through a couple times more, the defence were about as solid as they could be, questions might be asked about their disallowed goal but that would be very pernickerty. thought the stewart Virtue combination worked better. Thought k'kai was mixing it up in the forward line first half but dropped off in the second, bringing on mitchell was the right thing to do who did enough to keep their back line occupied.

We just didnt let Charlton play at all. I honestly think we could still step up a gear or even two. will say an absolutely shit ref, an the commentary was non-f*****g existent.

i would say a very comfortable 3-0

My bad omens before the game proved wrong I'm pleased to say. Things are looking good now. Important game Tuesday against another form team. Hope we can surge forward now to the play off spots.

But did 20s cash out tho?!
No I didn't.
But I did a four accumulator which at half time looked lost. Luton [2 down], Brentford [1 down] and Bolton [level]. Into the 93rd minute cash out was 13p but then Bolton scored All rolling forward on Forest Green. Cash out now 32.73. Pay out if they win is £68. Decisions, decisions!.

Great all round performance but really pleased to see Neil Critchley giving Nathan Shaw some pitch time. He thoroughly deserves it, home grown talent and looks comfortable whenever he has played. Our home grown and first team squad academy players deserve an opportunity when the time is tight. Hope that Antwi gets a chance in coming weeks.

I agree. Nathan looked calm and composed when he came on and got a few good touches. Didn't look out of place at all. Antwi next! 👍

Very happy with that. We've had a few false dawns this season, so don't want to get ahead of myself, but I can't help thinking this is the start of a Perfect 10 style run that secures promotion. I also presume it was 4-4-2 today. Which shows that Calderwood's influence is being heard again. Wouldn't surprise me if that's a direct result of the fans forum the other week. 👍

One of the things we should be doing is making space for these lads when we are winning so there’s no pressure on them. Today would have been an ideal Holmes 10 min cameo for instance.

Well deserved win with a very nice balance to the side. Looks like Critch is starting to believe that 442 is the best system for us to use. I personally didn't think that the ref was as bad as everybody is making out. He made a couple of whoppers ( Yeats' yellow being one ) but Charlton showed a nasty streak in their play today and they got the reds that they deserved for me.

Absolutely shite decision by the government to not allow fans back sooner this season, 19.6 million vaccinated already, by April will be well over half the country, all the vunerable and way more.

Why on earth are fans not allowed back into a stadium where they could be sat meters away from each other anyway.

What a shame considering how the season may end. Awful decision IMO.
