Charlton

I think it's 1976 the last win at Charlton. And there's been a fair few attempts since, certainly in recent history. Quite a few draws though.

After our game there, I note Ipswich were the reported as awful against Northampton ( the game where the ref and Judge went head to head) and Mick Mills was scathing about the team’s general lack of backbone

We need to go at Charlton, capitalise on the fact we didn’t play midweek and they are short of confidence. If we try and feel our way into the game, that will let them settle and we will be looking at another Ipswich.

i watched the game last night. They were ok on set pieces, apart from tht they are nothing specil at all. If we play a good game then theres nothing to worry bout.

I could have sworn I've seen us win at Charlton.
You might have done in the 70s or before.

We have only failed to score in two of those games yet still have such a terrible points return. Modern day defence - take note!

I was at the game in 1976.
The capacity then was over 70000.
In a big open end with around 250 Pool fans.
Think Fylde transport laid on a bus. It was a basic bus with no headrest and took hours when talking to the suffering fans with backache. At least the Weather was dry.
We were 2-0 up until late in the game when Derek Hales scored.

It's the right time to play them with pressure mounting on Bowyer. It feels similar to the Ipswich game with the 3pts there for the taking. It seems Critchley learned from that by playing 2 up front at Pompey, I hope we do the same again at The Valley.

Player to watch is nobbers' loanee Jayden Stockley. He's banging them in left right and centre. I was in Duckdale hospitality when they played Blackburn (purely a business engagement you understand). PNE were getting hammered but brought Stockley on at half time. The turnaround was unbelievable. He bullied Blackburn's centre halves mercilessly and turned the game around single handed.
