Chris Whitty

Think many would prefer him gobby. Top man, handled Ebola outbreaks, knows his stuff, no histrionics, reminds me of one of my old Profs, you could listen to him all day.

Anyone want to run a book on when the scientists will be thrown under the bus ?

I bloody hope not. He’s the epitome of genuine, intelligent, unassuming, non egotistical, necessary and basically nice. I love him 👍

He and his scientific and medical colleagues have already been lined up as the fall guys.

Politicians relationship with 'the science' reminds me of when managers claim to follow an established practice, but don't follow it to the letter, cutting out the bits they don't like and then blame the practice as opposed to themselves for not following.

Like making a quiche but not putting eggs in because you know better, then blaming the recipe and declaring yourself MasterChef
