Clubs approach Blackpool about loans?

I’ve no idea about how it works, but with the success Ballard, Gabriel and Simms have had at Bloomfield Road, and with the reputation Critch obviously has as a coach, I could imagine we could be a place where clubs want to send players on loan as opposed to a club who requests players come in on loan.

I imagine just a few years ago if we approached Arsenal, City, United etc they’d be pretty reluctant to send the next big thing our way however I would guess there’s no better place to send your 19/20 year old prospect now.

I think if I were Bielsa, Klop, Guardiola or Arteta I’d rather a youngster join Blackpool given the possession based style of play than say even Burnley or West Brom. I certainly think if we make the Championship that will be the case as the gulf in class between the Premier League bottom half and the Championship is pretty minimal.

Yep I'd go with that, we had some excellent loan players here when we were in the Championship, Jon Jo Shelvey, Seamus Coleman to name two.

If we were a Championship club we'd be a very, very attractive option to send a promising youngster on loan to.

He'd be playing in the next best division under a coach renowned for developing young players.

Did l read somewhere correctly that Critch is only 1 of 16 coaches in this country with same level of coaching qualifications?

Great OP and some very good follow up points. I'd add that the investment in the pitch made by SS will also make us more attractive for an EPL club looking to loan out a talented young player. Much closer now to an EPL clubs playing surface and much less chance of an injury...

After the improvement shown by Ballard Gabriel Simms and Critch’s undoubted reputation for bringing on youngsters then we are indeed in a very good position to attract talent from the prem. I spoke to a contact at Everton before the Ellis transfer and he said we were a club full of good people and that they were more than happy to send Simms here.

I don't wish to belittle Critch's qualifications, but they only ran that particular course once. There were 16 coaches on it and all 16 gained the badge, they never ran it again.
Fair enough, I didn't know the ins and outs of it.

His CV of crafting young players stands testament to him anyway with his time at Liverpool even if he didn't have the qualification. Trent Alexander-Arnold being the main one!

as I said I am not doubting his coaching credentials. Just stating the facts. 👍
