I know it’s a poor mans Olympics however there are many interesting events.
Surely you must have drooled over the pretty female Weightlifters and Shot putters etc.
Recorded and watched a good deal of the games and enjoying it.

Credit to Birmingham and the U.K. for once again breaking attendance records.
I have seen empty stadiums and streets for various sporting events but never the U.K.
Just look at the Womens Fooball Euros and the crowds flocking in the Midlands.
Why they keep snubbing us for the World Cup is beyond me.

I will have to perform like an athlete myself on Saturday as I attempt to catch the 17-20 train (Stoke)from Britannia stadium to Perry Barr .
I will be at the evening athletics on Saturday ( 7pm) and Sunday.

Anyone following any events and moments you have enjoyed.

Easy. Corruption!

Ive watched quite a bit. Triathlon was great including the relay. Some good swimming including a great relay win last night. Eilish McColgan and Johnson-Thompson. Mountain bikes. 3x3 basketball was good, new to me.

Loving it. Bowls a particular highlight.

I thought it telling the comment from Jess Ennis. At any other competition anywhere else in the world, the early morning heptathlon sessions are watched by a smattering of people and security.

At our events it's a full house.

Yep, been really interested, and some great sport. My only gripe - and of course it's the same in the Olympics - is the number of swimming medals awarded. There may be 4 ways of propelling yourself through the water, but track athletes only compete in one way (with the obvious exception of a couple of walking events), there are no medals for 100m hopping, skipping or running backwards.

Got other things to watch. Speedway and Rugby League. Plus every football league going of course !.

yes living in the midlands on our doorstep its amazing think they've done a really good job.Got a few of my clients are volunteers theirs a real good feel factor here

Nation of shopkeepers and spectators. :)

Watched every bout in the boxing had to go back to work today though so missed it.Just as the quarter finals start aswell things warming up now.Probably catch last bit of tonight’s session.

Two stand out young boxers I’ve seen so far are Taylor Bevan a Light Heavyweight from Wales who I think will win the gold and a Northern Irish Featherweight Jude Gallagher.Keep your eye out for them in next few years

Missus had it on earlier and while popping in and out of the front room, I briefly saw a podium with a midget, a guy in a wheelchair and someone who looked able-bodied on it. Fuck knows what event that could have been, I'm still trying to work it all out now.

Forgive me for asking but have only women been asked to present and appear as pundits at these games ?

England have been really good all tournament...

I used to do taekwondo with Eleanor at Bispham Community centre...she regularly used to kick my ribs in haha

I enjoyed watching the womens super heavyweight weightlifting yesterday, local favourite Emily Campbell won gold for England, great viewing.

I went to a few events when it was in Manchester, and also quite a few at the 2012 Olympics and Paralympics.

I must have had withdrawal symptoms as I then went to Glasgow in 2014, watching Athletics, Gymnastics, Boxing and Badminton.

My interest has waned since then, and while I've watched the odd half hour here and there, I've been nowhere near as enthusiastic.

Still what I've seen has been good

Yes enjoying it. Some CG events are limited strength in depth, Athletics an obvious example.
But some are virtually World Championships, such as the bowls. Nearly all the best flat green playing countries are in the Commonwealth.
The greens are a tad disappointing. I've played on them, albeit in 1987, they were superb. Now they look a bit tired, quite slow paced and it's such a shallow draw they're almost going in straight lines. Outdoor rinks will never draw as wide as the indoor carpets and aren't an exact regular arc anyway, but these offer very little interest in terms of line.

Eleanor Cardwell (nee Senior) was born and bred in Bispham and Blackpool. One of major successes if Blackpool sport over recent years and she's shining in the netball. St Bernadettes and St Mary's High School should be very very proud!

By nee I mean her mum's maiden name was Michelle Senior. Eleanor isn't married!

standout for me was Tiago Muxanga - from Mozambique - did you see him ? looked amazing to me

i'm in New Zealand - every sport now seems to be mainly women as pundits and in the studio etc. If they are gay and non white they are especially favoured - world has gone crazy - seems to be racist/sexist now if one person doesn't cover a lot of the minorities

My thoughts exactly

Yes seen both his bouts.Definitely the find of the tournament.I think he will get through to the final and Aidan Walsh (N.Ire) will beat him but great to watch.

Wish me luck tomorrow.
I have to run the 2 miles from Brittania stadium to the station in around 25 minutes forthe 17-20 train to Hamstead (close to stadium). I wonder if beer barge will still be open for a feeding station!
Athletics evening sessions on Saturday and Sunday.

Disappointed it all ends tonight - thoroughly enjoyed it and well done Birmingham for hosting. Can't say it had much of a wow appeal but the actual sports were really enjoyable.
