Compulsory Anti Covid jabs?

I see that Emperor von der Leyen is weighing in on the matter now: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-n...datory-vaccination-says-ursula-von-der-leyen/

The European Union must consider mandatory vaccination to tackle the spread of the “highly contagious” omicron variant, Ursula von der Leyen, the European Commission’s president, has said.
It seems that Germany are restricting unvaccinated peoples rights to attend non essential shops and leisure venues.
I would have thought EU would agree a coomon policy on this

I am 100% behind the vaccine programme but feel there's a big grey area when it comes to making vaccinations compulsory. The key is surely through informing of its benefits through education and trusted sources to deter and minimise conspiracy theorists on wacky Facebook groups spreading their nonsense.

Sadly, we don't live in a nation, nor a world, where truth takes precedence.

Heres another.

Vaccinated people in England under 60 years old are dying at twice the rate of unvaccinated people in England under the age of 60.

The brown line represents weekly deaths from all causes of vaccinated people aged 10-59, per 100,000 people.

The blue line represents weekly deaths from all causes of unvaccinated people per 100,000 in the same age range.

Vaccinated people under 60 are twice as likely to die as unvaccinated people. And overall deaths in Britain are running well above normal.

This is ONS data and the dataset used for this can be found here (see table 4) - https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopula...ths/datasets/deathsbyvaccinationstatusengland
On the face of it it looks worrying but its not accurate.

"But a footnote on that same table provides an explanation. It says: "For the 10-59 age group, the vaccinated population will on average be older than the unvaccinated population due to age-based prioritization in the vaccine roll-out. As mortality rates are higher for older people, this will increase the mortality rates for the vaccinated population compared to the unvaccinated population."

That is, the vaccinated population skews older. And older people naturally have higher mortality rates."

I am triple dosed and do not believe for a second we should be forcing anybody to have it by force or stealth.

I can just about understand why would do it for the NHS front line, but that's about it.

Lies, damn lies and statistics. Since those who are older and with underlying health problems are mostly vaccinated the chart is meaningless.

The only statistics which could be of use are those which actually list cause of death as COVID. Since that evidence is not available it tells us nothing.

There was a More or Less episode on this as well: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/w3ct2dkz

Apparently it's called "Simpson's paradox", although I suspect Homer might not be the original source.

I don't believe people should be forced to have jabs, just kept out of the way of the rest of us if they don't. So, they maintain their civil liberties and we maintain our health.

You make a well reasoned argument. It could well be a Simpson’s paradox and I do tend to agree the age ranges are too broad but the ONS haven’t broken them down into age brackets so it is difficult to say for certain. What I would say is it isn’t definitive and vaccinated deaths by a factor of two or three times is worryingly high and imo requires further investigation.

If there's any major issue with the jabs im sure we'll all be keen to see it however the issues, on the scale the jabs have been given, are miniscule.

Give your head a wobble Davepick. I get your old and vulnerable but just take a look online at the outpouring of disdain to this bullshit across the world. It’s just a massive no no.
Scara, age is irrelevant.
The virus has no favourites, anyone can catch it.
P.S. 'I get your old ...' Should be 'you're old...' 😯

nowt worse than the grammar police Dave, I thought you were better than that typical ( I’m more educated than you) response.

Due to have my booster on Monday. Must admit I don't think it's necessary, and agreed wholeheartedly with the opinions in the video below.

Off to Mexico on Wednesday and I guess the definition of fully jabbed will be changed to 3 soon and I can see it being a regular thing going forward where you'll need an annual jab. . If I want to travel I'll have to do as I'm told. It's a slippery slope.

I left school at 15 and got a job. I still like to spell and punctuate things properly.
Good got you, I left school at 15, and been very successful without a ** English language diploma,

They're not dying of covid. They're dying in car crashes mainly.
