I watched the Morecambe full 90 just now and a crazy thought came into my head 🙄.....

CJ actually looked a bit like a football player in the first half 🥴

Also earlier today the unthinkable happened when talking to a Liverpool-supporting friend and Critch inadvertently slipped out................. 😯
Until now since his return, it's been NC on here and it's been Critchley everywhere else.

Whatever magic he has used on CJ is looking good and I have seemingly fully forgiven him.

I’ve always thought CJ has an ability that hasn’t always showed so a drop in Division will bring the best out of him. Also (IMO) he comes in for some unfair stick but that is from our fickle supporters so not much to be concerned about really.

Not so much a confession, but an admittance that you don't know as much about football as you thought.




































Only kidding. He'll be a good asset next season though
 
We could play him ahead of Thompson as a left-sided WB. I think we all know that Championship was just a bit beyond him.
It was of course against League 2 opposition last where he looks more than comfortable.
Let's see if he's equally comfortable in League 1.
There is of course Alex Lankshear who can also play in that position and he seems to be impressing in pre-season.

Someone who was at thr game in the Morecombe end who doesn't know much about us said CJ stood out.

I've said it before, he'll be dangerous in league 1. He has his flaws but if used right and if he's full of confidence he can be an asset.

His stats when last in league 1 in half a season are better than Dale's in a full one.
 
When Critch was in charge in the championship, Kenny Dougall had the most number of assists in the team. In the

pre-season friendlies he had an assist in every game.
 
I didn't want Critch II either but as there was absolutely fuck all I could do about it, I stopped worrying about it ages ago. As long as we have a good season I've never really been too bothered who the manager is.

Hate to say I told you so....
 
I’ve always liked CJ, yes he’s no John Robertson but when his confidence is up he definitely troubles defenders. Lets hope he has a great season💪
 
I think most people forget he had a terrible injury when he was doing really well and we were saying we had a £10 million player on our hands.

He came back and was a shadow of his former self as he hadn't fully recovered. He's a really decent player and picked out as a bit of a whipping boy, along with Thommo now, who is also better than people seem to think. CJ came back strong last season and didn't let us down and in fact played some great matches, he was also ever present with all managers and selected for the Irish national squad.

I have no doubt that he will be a regular player this season and will change the minds of those who doubt him.

In L1 most are good enough and quite a few of the fringe players will score goals.
The competition we have for places is as good as I can remember apart from strikers.
 
1 game wonder 😄 90% of the time he’s gash.
He had a run of a few games where he used his physical side and shouldered a few out of the game, but too few and far inbetween.
Hopefully he’s more that type of player this season
