Couldn't care less who the new manager is.

If it's Heckingbottom,Mellon,Evatt or Jones whoever takes over will always try the best for their career at the club they manage.

I wouldn't go that far but as long as they come with a spring in their step and the right football philosophy I'll be happy to get behind them.

I know nothing about this heckinbottom but as daft as it sounds his name isnt inspiring 😄

Heckinbottoms tangerine army just doesnt sound good.

Maybe hes really good but it doesnt sound good to fans we need to bring back in.

But then again if he is good performances and entertainment would soon see to that.

Like Ollie was Tangomonkey a washed up manager who was building sheds.
It doesn't work like that you could get Pep or Klopp in and at a lower level sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
And same can be said for players.

Jesus we’re not some noddy club so managers use us to make mistakes. Pissing season tickets money down the drain watch crap. We’re a club with ambition and our next appointment should reflect that.
Decent post! I can go lean over the edge of a tall building if I want to feel suicidal. I'd rather come on here to feel there's some optimism about our club.

Let’s just get one thing clear, it’s not our club. It belongs to Mr. Sadler, we merely support it or not. The point I am making is SS will appoint who he feels can do the best job, with advice from the CEO. So being a fan he may take our thoughts on board but I don’t think we will influence him in any way.

If the last few years have demonstrated one thing it is that it absolutely IS our Club and woe betide any future custodian who forgets that. IMHO, the fans (and the increasing dissent regarding the Manager) have played a significant role in forcing the Grayson decision and I'm sure that Mr Sadler will have them in mind when considering his options for the next Manager.

I agree he will bear them in mind. The point I was making is that he will do what he and his advisors consider the best and not necessarily what we want.

"What we want" will be different depending on which individual supporter you speak to, so he could never do what we want in that regard. There are, however, already a couple of names that we have been linked with that would probably (like Larry in some respects) be on a hiding to nothing from the word go.

The one member of a club`s staff far above all others that determines the results on the pitch is the manager/coach. So to get that selection right is absolutely critical as to where the club goes from here

.I would not pretend to know enough about all the possible candidates to make any suggestions except to say as I did when Grayson was chosen that what we really need is a young ambitious upwardly mobile manager not yesterday`s man and I just hope that SS now recognises that and has advisers in place who are capable of giving him really good advice. This decision is crucial to the club`s future.

I think this will be a much more considered decision than the last one. Grayson was appointed on past reputation, not recent results. This time he has got people in place appointed by him and whom he trusts, so I think the next appointment will be more of a joint decision , ruled more by head than heart.
