Covid

Had a nasty throat, chest, cough thing for the last two weeks, didn’t really affect me except laying down in bed. Yesterday went to spoons, sat opposite the fire, took my coat off and immediately started to shiver. Left my pint (tragic) and by the time I got home I could hardly open my eyes. Went straight to bed at 6pm, temperature, headache, pains. Thought I had flu, but done a test this morning and I’m positive.

First time for me, I worked in a bank all through the pandemic, face to face with customers and never got it. Glad I had the injection on 1st October, or who knows how I’d be at my age.

It's a nasty little fecker but then so are all of the cold family viruses. Bloody awful.

Plus if you've got a naturally strong immune system, when one takes hold it floors you (which is allegedly what your genes should do to stop you hunting for food)

One of the reasons I have the Covid and Flu boosters as soon as they are available. The flu outbreak this year has begun earlier than normal according to the NHS.

had the flu injection but wasn't offered the Covid one this year. Have you to be 75 now before it's automatic that you can have it?
There are certain medical conditions (on the NHS website) that qualify you for the Covid jab under 75. I get it because I was previously was treated for leukaemia and have a weakened immune system

That’s how quickly it came on with me 1st time around, only I was in Cafe Nero and not Spoons. Got myself home to bed and didn’t get out again for about 2 weeks.
Hope you’re ok Mates, keep resting.

Still nothing yet for me this year 🤞

I don't qualify for the COVID jab anymore but don't know if I have ever had it as never bothered with a test If I did test positive is there a remedy or it just a badge of honour like saying you've got Man flu?

Same thing I had, the worse bit is the complete lack energy, it fcuks you up, hope you're feeling better soon, it does bugger off eventually.

Flu used to kill off many of the infirm, in these upcoming months. These flu jabs are keeping the population at unmanageable levels. These are the people wanting a cap on children per couple. A new knee or hip for the want want brigade is more important.

Due to increasing cases of covid and flu, the Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust has now re- introduced the requirement for face masks for both patients and visitors

Now there are so few testing kits it’s hard to now if you have had COVID or a bad cold. When I first had it I thought a bad cold was worse. ( after having had the vaccine).

The withdrawal of free covid testing kits was a not just a financial move.
As we achieve herd immunity, now very few people realise they have it so it’s no biggie

So you had a COVID jab in October then a month later you've got it!
So clearly it didn't work.

What a massive load of brainwashing rubbish this country has become for a form of Flu.
The guy is 83 years old. Whatever your opinion on Covid (I also agree that the boosters/jabs don’t seem to do much and seem pointless…), surely you can realise this could be serious for him? A simple “get well soon” message would have sufficed, instead of displaying zero self-control over what comes out of your mouth. People like you who think you’re better than everyone else are genuinely the worst.

Maybe it was the microchip we were all told covid was a cover for.

Over the last few weeks I've been called in for flu and covid, plus shingles and pneumonia.
like i said the west yorkshire health trust says 75 which unsurprisingly is the same as the rest of the country, Not sure if it's odd or not that the shingles and pneumonia is at a younger age. Which is the bigger threat?

Are you saying I'm lying? My wife is 59 and she's had it as well.

As well as Covid numbers on the rise, the Head of the NHS has now said that the number of flu cases look like heading for a record high, including numbers in hospitals.

The numbers seem to support that, although they're not updated as often as they used to be: https://ukhsa-dashboard.data.gov.uk/respiratory-viruses

Looks like it could be another tough winter for the NHS, still, at least with Starmer in charge I'm sure they'll cope just fine.
