Crewe Match Review

Hmm. Yates is great and Madine not good enough?

I beg to differ lol...

Good write up.

Yates is fine, I agree with Sean in what he says about not getting it to him in the right place. He needs a goal so much it's painful.

If we're going to play Madine (and frankly, how can we not?) then we've got to get players closer to him. He's plenty good enough if you use him right imo.

Yep i agree with that

Maybe need one of the midfield 3 to gamble and go past the ball

"Whilst Jerry Yates had yet another frustrating day in front of goal, his work rate and positional movement is something that simply cannot be questioned."

He had two decent efforts saved - just seems as if he is being thwarted by keepers at the moment.

I also thought he looked good in full flight going at their defence 2nd half until he was cynically fouled.

Agree with the points about Yates. Always seems to receive the ball under pressure but when he does receive it with time looks a threat. He also certainly has a strike on him, hoping it’s only a matter of time for him to get on the score sheet.

Good, detailed write up although I can’t agree with the Turton or Madine points. For me Turton was too quick to hoof the ball over the opposing full back aimlessly and kept crossing from daft areas of the pitch, even more daft when there wasn’t anybody in the box. As for Madine I thought his first touch yesterday was good more times than it was bad. He won more than his fair share in the air and looked up for it with his pressing. I’ve not been his biggest fan but I’d certainly have him above Turton in the man of the match stakes.

All about opininions
Turton is average defensively but good going forward, and is probably our most effective crosser of the ball. His cross even after being fouled led to our goal.
He will probably be replaced by Gabriel at some point but is nowhere near as poor as some posters regard him
