I guess Virtue has been injured and Dougall just arrived. Think we might struggle today. Hopefully will be proved emphatically wrong!
 
I havent said it's not solid I just think it will be a difficult watch...and the team is a million miles away from what it will be in a few weeks so still plenty of chopping and changing to come.

Ward probably keeps his place due to Anderson getting a knock. Maybe Ward will be a bigger factor today if he is able to take on a more forward role.

But, I can't say I'm overly confident with that team.

We'll see.

Could and should have replaced:
Turton, Ekpiteta, Williams, Ward, Madine
 
Williams is playing because he wants a defensive midfielder in the team and Dougall hasn't even trained with the team, same as Woodburn. I thought Turton and Husband would start but expected Husband to be left back and Ballard in the middle. Virtue is still injured, as is Anderson and presumably Kaikai so I think in the circumstances it is a more defensive line up but with plenty of attacking options.
 
Yates is back in his Swindon position playing left of a target man so that much makes sense.
Madine got better as the game went on last week and got into the box ready for crosses. For me the front 3 makes sense.
As others have said, he is looking at the need for a Def midfielder finally - our options are Williams or Antwi until Dougall is ready.
The Def are all playing for places now as are Ward and Robson
 
that line up looks very defensive. Ward hasnt really impressed although he always looks busy. maybe today is the day when we find our shooting boots. hope springs eternal
 
I thought Beccles was the Crewe player tested positive with covid mid week ? If so, how is he playing ?!
 
A lot of our fans don't seem to comprehend that tactics relies on balancing attributes and playing against what you're up against. If Sadler had bought 11 Lionel Messi's there'd be those who'd want 11 Messi's on the pitch and still not fathom why we're losing each week. Playing an extra defensive midfielder today may well provide the freedom for other players to become more involved in the attack. Really need to trust the experts (Critch) here and at least watch how the squad perform before writing them off based on the team sheet.

Cheer up guys, I've seen many bad BFC teams at least this one tries to play football. In Hamilton we have a player who can create and score. Madine getting a chance at last and Yates playing as a 10, I'm looking forward to it
 
away commentators think its a good Crewe win - predictions of 2-0, 3-1, just one with 1-1!!

hope that we can use this game as a springboard to try to turn things around!
