Jokanovic on his way... wouldn't be at all surprised if they come sniffing.
Well the Blades definitely won't be approaching Peterborough about Duncan Ferg.Isn’t this what the Peterboring United chairman predicted? We’ll see …

Simon Grayson would be an excellent choice.Alex Neil is available
That a successful manager is being linked to other clubs?
MASSIVE!!!Why would Critch even consider Sheff United!
If you mentioned Sheff Wednesday then that’s a different story
Unfortunately DP that means nothing today in FootballThey can 'sniff' all they like.
Critch isn't going anywhere yet, having just signed a new contract.
This is Critch we're talking about.Unfortunately DP that means nothing today in Football
Time will tell... the relationship between Sadler-Critch-fans is pretty special and unique.... my thoughts are NC won’t be swayed anytime soon... we have the real dealUnfortunately DP that means nothing today in Football
He also assumed we were the same sized club as Posh.Think he listed a few clubs in paticular and Sheffield United was one of them, can't remember precisely though, and he said it's likely Critch would go if such a club was interested
Yep, they tend to have players doing nowt on big wages that you can't shift as they're quite happy to get paid for doing nowt. It's what dragged Sunderland down, but the fans of these clubs need to take some of the blame for demanding big transfers in the first place. The trouble with these clubs is they end up in a spiral of negativity which almost can’t be shaken off without reaching some kind of rock bottom. (See Sunderland).
Fans become increasingly impatient, putting pressure on the manager to deliver instant success, that increases pressure on the board & changes the type of candidates that might be considered…. You end up with a dressing room full of disgruntled argumentative players, signed by different managers to play different systems on silly wages etc…
Yes, they are big clubs, but by and large they are set up for failure from too to bottom….
If someone puts a life changing contract in front of him - he would be mad to turn it down. This is Critch we're talking about.
Save him for the Nobbers.Simon Grayson would be an excellent choice.
I think I'll send The Blades a recommendation.
Simon S knows his business. I expect on top of Critch's dedication to the cause there is a whopping release clause in place. If someone puts a life changing contract in front of him - he would be mad to turn it down.
I hope it never happens - but his first priority should and will be his family’s security - and not BFC.
Can you really see him leaving after he's just signed a new contract? If someone puts a life changing contract in front of him - he would be mad to turn it down.
I hope it never happens - but his first priority should and will be his family’s security - and not BFC.
I don't think he needs an announcement, he'll obviously be fully aware of what's happening.Next thing that would encourage NC to stay would be a TG announcement and a bulid commencing next year
You old RomantasistCan you really see him leaving after he's just signed a new contract?
If he got a really good offer, he will know that, if Pool carry on the way we are now, he's bound to get even bigger offers at the end of the season.
Bank on Critchs' loyalty..
I suppose it depends on your motivation. There’s a world of difference to wanting to be successful and wanting to earn a lot of cash.If someone puts a life changing contract in front of him - he would be mad to turn it down.

Definitely. Better to play the long game and Critch will. Build a legacy then get a big move. Not a team below us with issues.I suppose it depends on your motivation. There’s a world of difference to wanting to be successful and wanting to earn a lot of cash.
I think the one thing that works very much in our / NC’s favour is the relationship with Klopp. Much like NC, Klopp strikes you as an individual with integrity, who has built his success on a combination of loyalty, integrity and self-belief etc..
It’s a common misconception and a mistake that so many managers make to their ultimate cost to chase the big money at Clubs that just aren’t right…. They are banana skin contracts and they can stop a career in its tracks.
Neil needs to test his capabilities still at Blackpool, develop his own confidence and self-belief at a club that will allow him the time and space to make mistakes etc…
He’ll know when the time is right to take the next step and he won’t be blinded by money…IMO…
Klopp and NC are miles apart in contracts.I suppose it depends on your motivation. There’s a world of difference to wanting to be successful and wanting to earn a lot of cash.

SeasideOne libertarian tangent alert! If someone puts a life changing contract in front of him - he would be mad to turn it down.

I’m not sure I suggested they were on similar contracts, just that they have a relationship and that Klopp hasn’t flip/flopped from Club to Club.Klopp and NC are miles apart in contracts.
Very very few footballers or managers stay with the same club when offered considerably more.
The only one I can think of in modern times is Matt Le Tissier and he just wanted an easy life, and I am sure there are others - but not many!!
I will leave you to your wonderful fairytale world of non reality in footbal
It’s almost inevitable (if he continues to be successful).. My point is that he will be well advised / mentored and will not simply jump in with both feet if the circumstances aren’t right. So we agree he will move in the end for a good a contract.
Back to reality at least!!!
.. and I never said it would be Sheffield United, but nothing surprises me in football.
I’m not sure I suggested they were on similar contracts, just that they have a relationship and that Klopp hasn’t flip/flopped from Club to Club.
So to that extent he will have a solid mentor to guide him through the minefield I’m talking about.
And there will literally be hundreds of managers who regularly turn down jobs where more money is offered, we just don’t get to hear about them, because they are private conversations.
Neil has alluded to the set up and Blackpool on a number of occasions and he is well supported with a team (board, recruitment set up / strategy in particular) that all pull in the right direction for him… There’s a lot more to our success on the field than NC and his coaching alone (and Neil is well aware of that).
Yes, there may be a contract offer at some point that might simply be too good to refuse, but it won’t come from Sheffield United or a similar basket case type Club…. (They are wrong for him and he’s wrong for them).
Sorry 2020, you might have to run that one by me again. Not grasping what you meanx3
In the same way that we won't hear about private conversations where "hundreds of managers turn down jobs where more money is offered" - I don't believe that's the case myself - I imagine that there will be private conversations "from Sheffield United or a similar basket case type Club" - I am not saying Sheff Utd are a basket case club - where basket case clubs make offers to managers that are too good to refuse.
